Alexa's statistics on LRR are quite interesting.

LRR's Traffic Rank by Country wrote:Canada 12,920
Sweden 64,738
Mexico 70,793
Austria 78,815
Finland 82,222
Australia 87,574
New Zealand 89,851
Israel 104,081
United States 109,809
Netherlands 130,601
United Kingdom 599,102

It seems the number of hits per day haven't changed so very much, but some other stats seem to have been dropping.

I'm not personally familiar with the concept of "traffic rankings" - what does that actually mean? And how can we work to raise LRR's Internet statistics?

And how can there be so many Swedes watching yet only one talking... does that make me an ambassador?!

Because most LRR visitors are too intelligent to install Alexa's spyware and because of that their statistics aren't worth a shit? ^^

Haha, it's kinda lame that Canada... the place where this is all based.. seems to go here the least... or does that mean it's ranked 12,920 out of whatever many sites there are?

No, DM, lower is higher. If it were #1, it would be the most visited (by people from Canada) of all websites.

Huh, interesting.

Alexa's stats are horribly, terribly skewed, because it only counts people who have the Alexa toolbar installed. Still, they are interesting stats.

All our stats will have gone down over a six month period because of the huge spike we got in September from Talk Like a Pirate.

Yeah, that's what I thought but wouldn't this be relative to the population of each country? If the ratio of internet users who have Alexa's tracker on them (if this is indeed the only way they track web usage) is roughly the same for both Canada and the US, assuming that the number of internet users per capita is the roughly same for both countries, and the population of the US is roughly nine times more than Canada's (based on 2006 CIA stats) then I think that means LRR has a similar proportion of viewership in the US as in Canada.

Also, with millions upon millions of websites out there, at a rank of ~110,000, I also think that means LRR is so much better than porn. Feel free to contest.

Furthermore, if, as browcoat alluded to, viewership of LRR has a direct correlation with intelligence, then Americans must increase viewership of LRR to shake off some of that 'stupid American' stereotype. To arms! Hold your friends and families to watch LRR, by force if necessary! They'll be smarter whether they like it or not!

P.S. Also an interesting gauge of viewership history, the number of views each video got as seen on the videos list. The spike Graham mentioned is clearly evident.
To LRR is human.

I was confused at first why the UK has so many friggin viewers.
Then I realized......oh.

I guess either 1) LRR is very popular up in Canadaland or 2) Not many Canadians know how to use teh intrawebz ;)

Well, when you factor in the bit where most of us live in igloos, and have no electricity, and travel by sled dog, can you blame us for not having computers?

Seriously, all that ice and snow freezes the Intertron SOLID, and nothing can get through.
"I swear it," said the other mother. "I swear it on my own mother's grave."

"Does she have a grave?" asked Coraline.

"Oh yes," said the other mother. "I put her in there myself. And when I found her trying to crawl out, I put her back."

It's an absolute miracle that the internet tubes magically unfreeze every friday, too. Aren't we lucky! But then being the provincial capital they have people working 24/7 de-icing the tubes so the Premier can watch the Daily Show on Youtube.

Now see if the internets were only a big truck then we could just throw some skis on it, hook up the moose to pull the thing and we'd all be golden*.

What he's saying is Northern Irelanders can choose how they are counted in terms of other things. And also, two passports booya, evidently).

Yeah, but "would like" never got...

You're only eligible to be counted in Ireland's stats if you live in the area known as the "Republic of teh gay religion war"

I was trying to make a point that it's a much bigger issue than just a "religion war" without going all preachy. "A Modest Proposal" was in poor taste, too, but it certainly got the point across. I'm less of an adept at satire than Swift was, but there you go. Sorry to have offended.
