Grindhouse

Postby HMNSHLD » 06 Apr 2007, 22:39

Pointlessly Awesome.

I think that sums up Grindhouse.

Anyone else seen it yet?

Supposedly you Canadians got the "Hobo with a Shotgun" trailer, any truth to that?

I'm really torn here...

I really want to see Rodriguez' Zombie flick, but I don't know if I could stomach a slasher movie by Quentin Tarantino.

(I'm not going to hijack this thread into a discussion about the director, but those who know me know I can't stand him.)

Anyway, maybe I should just go see half. Machine Gun leg looks bitchin', and it's been forever since Rodriguez did anything that wasn't a kid movie.

...Though as kids movies go, they were still pretty good. Plus the guy makes his films on pennies and shoe buttons.

Actually Alex, I know how you feel about the guy, but I don't think you'll be offended by Death Proof. In fact, you might even like it. I know why you don't like his other films, and I respect that, but Death Proof has a very different feel.

Also, you will LOVE Planet Terror. Grossest zombies I've ever seen.

I've seen better movies...

But I've never had more fun at the theatre.

And Alex, You'll dig Death Proof... It's not what it seems.

As a whole I liked it, but someone should rein in Tarantino. The first and second acts of Deathproof really dragged for me, because the characters wouldn't shut up.

Yea, during the first set of girls talking, I was about to fall asleep. The second scene of girls talking was enjoyable 'cause they were funny. I was glad when the first set of girls got what they got, they were annoying. Except Butterfly, I liked her.

This is like my exact conversation when I saw kill bill 1 in the theaters and tried to explain that it was teh awesome to Francis. I took him to see it the next day.

except maybe I said "ninjas", "swoosh", and "hya hya" a lot too

You see, when I first looked at the title of the thread, I was expecting a reference news story about how a korean goldfarming and powerlevelling place got raided. But alas, I was wrong...

And Canadians with sneak peeks? Isn't that one of the reasons why about 60% of all cine-tapes that get torrented come from there?
