Ah well Hello!

Postby CaptainBerry » 31 Mar 2009, 18:21

Hi my name is Matt.
23 years of age, originally from Stevenage, Hertforshire, I currently find myself residing in the not-so-glorious-but-could-be-worse city of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire (re: originally from Stevenage part for the elaboration on that comment)

I like gaming on whatever platform I can get (I'm about the only person I
know that still enjoys their Nintendo Wii). I own (not pwn) afformentioned Wii, a DS, and a PS3 (just one not three HAHAHAHA a little LRR joke for you there, just to show I am down with it).
I place gaming on the same level that I place Drawing, Writing, Drinking, Dancing and Spelling, I that I am absolutely no good at it but will be DAMNED if I am to stop now. I have invested far to much money and sexy time into these things.
Oh yeh, I like all the same games that you people seem to like. That being: Final Fantasy....and that's it.

I dabbled in the Dark Arts for a long time (Warhammer, Warhammer 40k, WoW) but, with the help of the group and my sponsor, am currently 3 months sober.

Music wise, I'm a bit middle of the road: I like everything I hear a bit to much and don't want to commit to any one genre to much out of fear I might miss out. And then I get run over.
My playlist on my MP3 player at the moment goes from Pendulum to Ray Charles via way of New Found Glory and The Saturdays.
That being said, I can't stand the "British" Indie scene at the moment.

OK, some LRR. I suppose I'm the kind of LRR fan that REAL LRR fans HATE, in that I discovered them through another website. I then thought it was funny and decided that I was a fan "for the longest time".

Yeah anyway, I discovered them through the Escapist, a site I previously only visited on Wednesdays. Now I turn up Mondays too. Go TEAM!

So that's me, or at least the stuff I can remember at 3:20am. See you on the boards!

Matt

P.S. I despise being called British! Enjoy!

Signed up today... ( yes great date to do so ).

I found LRR about 6 months ago and been working my way through the long list of video's. For some time I had been thinking of signing up for LRR's forums and finally did so after I saw the omnilingual video.

About myself, I am from the Netherlands currently living the student life,
studying for my bachelors degree in IT.

When I was a kid I had a C64 so this site imidiatly gave me a feeling of nostalgia. ( PRESS PLAY ON TAPE :) )
Used to play games like Ace II, Sly Spy Secret Agent, and Midnight Resistance, among others on my C64. As well as read the instruction manual and follow it's tutorials for writing small Basic programs. ( PRINT "HELLO WORLD!" )

Anyway enough about that.

Oh yeah my real name is Roy, but who uses realnames online nowadays anyway huh?

I have most likely forgotten a ton of stuff I originally wanted to write so thats basicly me  8)

Hm, well my name's Jacob from California in the US. I enjoy almost every type of video game except for most current sports games. My love for music is quite large which ranges from techno to black metal. I'm a sophomore in high school, and finally I make stupid videos of me playing video games on YouTube.
Well wasn't that the greatest paragraph you've ever read?

Hi,

I first came across LRR through the “Unskippable” show over at the Escapist. I thought that was great, so I knew it wasn’t a bad idea to check out the LRR site link. It was a good choice, lots of great content here !

As for myself, I’m a 20 year old shipping agent in Goole, Yorkshire, UK. When I’m not at work I’m usually at home surfing the net or playing through a game on the 360. I’ve also decided to learn how to play the guitar….but I’ve got a long way to go yet before I can play basic tunes!!

I know I won’t be a religious poster, but I will try to join in with the boards when I can.

Catch you later !

Hello:

I came across Loading Ready Run through the Mass Effect freak out spoof you guys did, although sad to say I shortly forgot about you since. Then when your 3 PS3 video was recommended to me on youtube I rediscovered my love for the witty humor found on the site. So why not subscribe to the forum I thought? So here I am in all my sarcastic glory.

Hey, I'm Eric.

I've been a fan for a couple years now, but I only just decided to join the forums.

Anyways, I'm 19 (I turn 20 in about a week, April 12) and I live in Garfield, Arkansas. I'm a sophomore at Northwest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) in Bentonville, and I'm majoring in computer science.

I love music, a few of my favorites being Rush, Dream Theater, Opeth, Lacuna Coil, and Flight of the Conchords. I mainly listen to anything that's progressive, metal, or both, but I'll listen to pretty much anything as long as it's not emo or country.

Some of my favorite movies are Snakes On a Plane, The Boondock Saints, Black Snake Moan, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, all the Monty Python movies, the Evil Dead movies, Watchmen, and the Dark Knight.

I'm a big fan of manga and its anime counterpart. Favorite series include Haruhi Suzumiya, Ergo Proxy, Speed Grapher, Cowboy Bebop, Elfen Lied, Welcome to the NHK, and Fate/Stay Night.

I'm an avid gamer and my favorite games are the Tales series (Symphonia being my all-time favorite), Resident Evil Zero thru 5, Ninety-Nine Nights, the Dead or Alive series, anything by Bethesda, the Witcher, Crysis, etc.

Hello, I am Evan.

I am presently procrastinating and figured it would be a fantastic time to join the forums. I have been meaning to for a bit, so what better time then now?

I am 21, live in Toronto, and go to U of T. Being a university student, I find my ability to procrastinate becoming much more honed than it was a year ago. I am writing a paper on Baudrillard as contextualized in eXistenZ and Being John Malkovich. It is quite boring, I assure you. If you have this topic as a paper option... well just avoid film theory classes. And/Or film theory classes as taught by a temp. professor that seems to have an aversion to actually teaching. Now that I have bitched about that, I will stop.

Anyway, just figured I would waste some more time, say hi, and hope to get to know everyone and start posting a little on here. Sorry about the rant, and perhaps you got through this!

My name is Aaron, and I'm a LRR fan. ... Or is this not that kind of meeting?

ANYWAY, I pretty well just digested everything that Graham and Paul have headed up and posted on the internet that I could find - all within a month - so I figured I might as well join up on the forums.

26, attending college, dunno what I wanna be when I "grow-up" - mostly because the "growing-up" is pretty unlikely. However, I'm sure my career path as a "jack-of-all-trades" will eventually lead me to Prime Minister of Canada, at which point I will insist everyone refer to me by the title "Optimus Prime Minister"
See you at the polls!

... or, you know, around the forum.

Introductions, nearly a month late!

I plays me some video games.

I spend too much time near computers, and more specifically, on the internet.

When I am not wearing my hat, (a black knit cap, wool) I feel tangible discomfort.

I am closing in on 2 meters in height, and I pity Bill. He must be really uncomfortable in a lot of spaces made for people of normal heights. I know I usually am.

Ahoy there!

Name's Chris, 21 last I checked
Currently living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, AKA zombie apocalypse ground zero, but grew up in the Bronx, New Yawk
I like games, music, games, movies (esp. those that are so bad they are funny), games, and writing, among other things.

I'm getting a Bachelor's in Computer Science, though I'm not very good at it. Computers don't like it when I look at them funny.

I was introduced to LRR through a friend, and signed up on the forums when he posted some of my completely unoriginal material. So... yeah. Hi!

I'm up to post 12 or 13 or somewhere around there now, huh... probably about time I wrote something here...

I'm a transplanted Canadian. I grew up shovelling snow in Saskatoon before making like everyone sane and fleeing west for university. While in my fourth year at UBC I attended a November job fair, and found that local employers weren't interested in anyone who wasn't going to be finishing in December, while the few American companies there were perfectly willing to entertain the thought of waiting a few more months. So it is I spend most of my time in California, though I do go back to Vancouver from time to time. (It amuses me somewhat that my family followed me west, and then the snow seems to have followed them... probably doesn't amuse some people here as much, though.)

I smash buttons in time to music and occasionally stick camera lenses in peoples' faces. One of my friends claims to have evidence that I have a lamp fetish, but I assert that it's not me in that picture.

Greetings congregates. My name is Brian and I'm coming to you from the glorious green state of New Jersey in the United States.

I enjoy soccer (phootball) and am the keeper for my team. I am quite good.
I enjoy airsoft, and welcome my fellow joisy-ites to join the NJAA (new jersey airsoft association).
I enjoy the old adult swim before they shitcanned 12oz mouse.
I enjoy ice hockey and play mainly as a defender, though I am occasionally center.
I enjoy physics.

I enjoy cosplay. Last year, without the aid of a dressform or even a sewing machine, I made an Altair (Assassin's Creed) costume for halloween out of pleather, fun foam, cloth, a serving tray, and a much modified collapsible tai chi sword (the hidden blade). Hooray for guestimation and glue!

I would also enjoy if someone could give me some tips on how to reduce the file size on jpegs. For some reason I can't make my images less than 6k without reducing them to pinpoint size. Please message me!!
