Thinking of haikus
is very hard on the spot.
We try nonetheless.

And I'm WAYF, from Australia. I get very easily obsessed, especially when it comes to music, so before I joined I learned of LRR's backstory by going through every single video I could find that looked particularly interesting (i.e most of them).
I think I'm pretty much up-to-date now... except I have yet to witness a Desert Bus.

Glad to be here! :)

Why write a Haiku?
A meaningless expression,
but entertaining.

You may refer to me as Mortech, and I am from a little town in Maryland, USA. I'm 17 and like the videos on this site (Would I be here if I didn't?) Recently I noticed the last forum I was a part of got overrun by 12-year-olds, so I think I'll try this one instead. From what I've seen, even the trolls are polite here. Looking forward to Desert Bus, though I have little to contribute.

I will most likely end up lurking and not posting much here, but a fond hello regardless.
Your friendly neighborhood LRRker.

Howdy! My name is Alex and I am of 20 years. I am a very large nerd and proud to proclaim it. I play D&D (24 lvl wood elf sniper; multiclassed to the max!) and video games of all kinds. I enjoy reading and writing short stories, usually fantasy, and essays on what ever recent scientific break through that is currently taking place. I listen to Rock music from what some refer to as "the good ol' days" in addition to bands such as Modest mouse and Interpol. I love martial arts and military strategy and have scores of books on both. I also train daily in ninjutsu (Yes, I am actually a ninja), wing chung, and kenjutsu. In my off time I write programs doing whatever pops into my head and explore the wonderful world of minecraft while fortifying Castle Ostragarth from the pesky, yet ever-present undead horde. Nearly forgot to mention the fact that I proudly bear the title of "Trekkie" as I have seen every single Star Trek episode (excluding Enterprise because none of my friends own it =[ ) and movie, totaling over 900 hours. I am also a Browncoat, complete with my own duster, hat, boots, and a large database of facts and tidbits from all over the 'verse. I also enjoy westerns, such as The Rifleman, and other scifi's and casually watch anime.

I work as a programmer (C, C++, as3, python, java, and learning the beast that is Fortran) at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, A.K.A. the Maglab in Florida, USA, where all of the world records for magnets are conveniently located in one lab!

I am currently a confused sophomore in college as I am pretty much doing what I am going to college for right now, but I will figure it out eventually.

I have been following LRR since the original "Installation Anxiety" back in 2007 and joined the forums after I ran out of podcasts and came to the sad conclusion that the crew does not use twitter enough for me to meet my quota.

Hey-hey! My real name is Dave, and even though there are 80 million people named "Dave" in the US alone, it still creeps me out when Internet peoples call me Dave. So call me Joe. I'm 24, live in New Jersey, and wish the show "Jersey Shore" was never created. I'm big into computers, vidya games, and Magic: the Gathering. I also consider myself a huge music buff, mostly rock 'n' roll throughout the ages (Queen, Rush, Zep, BNL, TMBG, Anamanaguchi... I could go on and on listing my favorite bands.).

I'm currently unemployed, but studying at my local community college in Computer Science. Yes, I'm planning on transferring out of there when I finish up. Yes, I watch Community, and I think it's hilarious. (I could go into the other TV shows I watch, but that's really a short list, and I'd likely get bored trying to type it out.)

My first exposure to LRR was probably the 2nd Desert Bus, but I only watched bits and pieces of it, and never got a good feel for what was going on, other than people torturing themselves for charity.
My second exposure to LRR was when Justin McElroy of Joystiq felt he had to pimp out a video he did with LRR on the Joystiq Podcast. I watched it, got a hearty chuckle out of it, and pushed it aside in my mind, not at all paying attention to the site the video was on.
My third exposure to LRR, and what would lead to me actually paying attention to them, was an odd crossover Paul did on Zero Punctuation. At the time, I pretty much only visited the Escapist for... well, Yahtzee. Then came that April Fools episode, and I scratched my head at that odd moment until the credits where Yahtzee griped about no one watching Unskippable. So, figuring there was some set-up for that gag in Unskippable, I watched the most recent episode... and then went on an Unskippable archive binge after liking what I saw so much. I paid a lot closer attention to Desert Bus 3, then began lurking these forums and listening to the LRRCast (which I assumed was always bi-weekly, anyway) around the time they moved the main series to The Escapist (more specifically... after watching MeatShroom. Something about Man Cooking... I don't know what it was...). The order of these events may be wrong, but whatever... my memory's bad enough as it is.

So... yeah, migrant from the Escapist, and I also have them to thank, indirectly, for getting me to open my mind a bit and check out all the other good stuff the Escapist has to offer, as I'd likely just be yet another raving Yahtzee fanboy elsewise. Anyway, hopefully I'll be more active here than on the Escapist forums, where I just seem to comment on all the videos I watch. Then again, the only message board I actually make a habit of visiting lately seems to be the one I've visited the longest for some silly Earthbound fansite. But who knows? I might prove myself worthwhile.

Also, incidentally, that was Graham in the crossover with ZP, not Paul. Other than that, welcome!

Well hello to all of you here.
I'm from Holland, otherwise known as The Netherlands, and therefor I am Dutch.

Now hold your fire, I have more to say.
My last name is Sevenhuysen.
Quite interesting really, it's such an uncommon name, and really weird to see it constantly pop up in the videos, since the only people I know that share my last name are my direct family, it's that uncommon.
I never knew I had relatives in Canada.

Now that's not the only reason I am here, or to be more precise, that's one of the least reasons I am here.

The main reason is that I love LRR, I love the videos and everything.
Eventhough they completely screwed up that Multi-lingual sketch with the Dutch part, that sounded more like Danish, but whatever.

But anyway, I'm here, and probably, here to stay.
The only ones that face reality are the ones too stupid to duck when they see it coming!

Oh, um, so there's this thread, hi.

My name is Sean, I'm a librarian from Sydney, Australia. I first got into Loading Ready Run courtesy of their stuff at The Escapist, in particular ENN. When they began showing LRR's sketch stuff, I watched a few, but finally really got into it with The Basement, which made me laugh like a drain, and I checked out the website. (Proceeding to fall in love with Phailhaus in turn.)

So, basically I'm the dreaded Escapist flood-over from their forums. Erm, sorry about that. I'll try to keep the stupid locked up.

As far as interests go, I'm an avid video-gamer, and love tabletop role-playing, although I don't get to do it as much as I used to. (I actually enjoy role-playing games in any format. LARP? Done it, enjoyed it. MMORPG role-playing? Did that, wrote a blog. MUSHes? Did it, met my future wife there. So, y'know. Role-play! It's what's for breakfast!) My favourite role-playing game is Castle Falkenstein, with Dogs in the Vineyard, Unknown Armies, Nobilis, and Wraith: The Oblivion also on my list. Not much of a D&D guy.

(I also really enjoy studying politics, but that's a much messier field and less socially acceptable than Satan-worship via RPG, so I'll steer clear.)

Hello.

Hey, long time lurker, first time account maker. :P

I am Daniel, IT and Network Specialist, think I love networking more than the other fields of Information Technology. Might get back into web design, been so long I bet quite a few things have changed. Things to learn I guess.

If anyone wants to play me on Steam, my SteamID is SamFisher202, and for private discussion you can add my MSNIM address. Although, I will frequent the Escapist and LRR IRC channels, so catch me in both locations as well.

My interests include adventure, anime, history, information technology, math, networking, puzzles, rock climbing, science, web design, and cherry snow cones, yum.

Hello everyone, my name is Nathan. I had been watching Unskippable for quite a while on The Escapist, but only just just discovered Loading Ready Run a little over a week ago. I went through all the videos there, then quickly blew through commodore Hustle once I saw how well written and acted it was. I love your stuff, and very soon I'll have to go through the backlog of things that aren't on The Escapist.

Hello future subjects. It is I, your lord Guvnorium, mild megalomaniacal mastermind and meme mutterer. What do you mean I don't get to run this place? Anyway...

I'm an eighteen year old college student attending the University at Buffalo for History. If I make obscure references to American president WH Harrison, that is because he was awesome. Seriously, look it up. Because of him, the Whigs essentially elected a Democratic-Republican.

I found LRR after watching Unskippable on the escapist and finding my way to this sight. I proceeded to watch every video on it. It is all good. I look forward to Desert Bus, and all other future awesomeness.

Most of my foruming experience is on the Unforgotten Realms forum, although I have certainly spent a fair amount of time on other forums. The only relevance that I can see in that statement is that I never would have found the Escapist if not for Urealms, and thus would never have found Unskipple, ergo I would not be here.

Hi!
I'm William, 20 years old, from Montreal.
I'm an engineering physics student at "La Polytechnique de Montreal" (its fun being bilingual!)(halfway through my degree).
When I'm not trying to understand how a wave function affects a membrane, how the rotation of the earth makes storms turn or I'm just to buried in homework to even try to understand, I like to come to LRR to laugh a bit.

I've been watching for years (since before the escapist, and its been so long I dont really remember exactly) but a great amount of shyness and a general suckiness with forums has made me avoid this step until now.

I love a lot of stuff, namely science, reading (pretty much anything), games, and LRR is currently my replacement for all the comedy shows they had on CBC during my chilhood (like the red green show, royal canadiam air farce, etc...).

I probably wont post much (like I said before, I have always been a bit to shy to work well in forums) but it would be nice to get involved with the community a bit.

And like I said, I LOVE SCIENCE! So if anyone has some cool/weird science questions, I would love to at least try to answer them.

Hi! I've already posted a few times because I missed this thread but let me introduce myself.

I'm an out of work actor and graphic designer who has an obscure webcomic.

As of posting I am 27 years old, a recent graduate from the University of Hawai'i with a Masters of Fine Arts in Asian Theatre Performance from Rhode Island.

I like obscure films, science, finding a deeper meaning in pretty much anything, and Steam for Mac (because it's about gorram time!)

and... I can't think of anything else to say...

Oh hi, I didn't see you.

My name is Taran (meaning: Thunder), I'm 18 and have been watching Loading Ready Run since my brother introduced me to it several years ago, the first video I saw was Failure since it had just come out at the time, I then proceeded to watch every video on the site, right from the beginning... took me a while to catch up. I honestly have no idea why I haven't been an active member in the forums before since I love all things LRR.

I'm currently unemployed since I have just left college (16 to 18 years, I live in the UK so I don't mean university.) but am looking for jobs and applying for courses. I'm looking to become an Actor and am also a musician and photographer, both of which a have a bit of experience in, having sold photos and played several gigs.

My other interests include all the classic nerdy things like science fiction books and film, anime, graphic novels, and of course games. My favourite games include the Fallout series, Command and Conquer, Simon the Sorcerer and Age of Wonders (me being a primarily PC gamer, although I'm partial to a Zelda game or even a bit of pokemon on the side).

I also love drawing, although I haven't had very much practise in it. But at least I'm getting better.

I have a twitter account if you're interested: @BRSexyman
But I guess you can just comment me on here if you want to talk. I guess that's the basics about me.

Everything seems shiny.

Howdy, y'all!
Name's Taisaku, Tai for short. It's japanese for Epic, which is part of a real life nickname no one ever uses for me, but which I quite fancy. If anyone is curious I can link you to its genesis.
86 is the year of my birth, making me 24.
I live in wonderful Montreal, Quebec and attend Concordia University studying English Literature. I hope to transfer into film studies in the next year or so, however. I only recently realized I'd love to do something with film, hopefully even become a filmmaker.
I work in the best dang video store on the island near my home in Montreal West. Obviously this is an ideal job for me, and I just hope we can find away to stay afloat in the dying rental buisness.
When not working or schooling I fancy myself a film buff (duh). An ideal night for me is staying in with some friends and watching a good movie.
Some of my favorites include The Fantastic Mr Fox, Dark City, Shoot 'Em Up, the 1986 animated Transformers movie ( more on that later) and Executive Koala.
I'm also an avid comic reader. My collection is fairly large, probably in the 1500's.
Combining these last few interests, I'm a bit of a coinesseur (not sure I spelled that right) of comic book movies. VERY few have met my expectations, and I will tell you all the little nitpicky problems I have with any of them at the drop of a hat. Especially Dark Knight. I have a real love/hate relationship with that movie. So much I love yet almost just as much I could rant against for hours. Don't get me started.
I also ADORE Transformers, and one wall of my bedroom is devoted to several shelves displaying my collection.
Before anyone asks, I loathe the Michael Bay movies with a fiery passion.
Finally, I'm a bit of a gamer. I'm currently enjoying New Vegas. Old favorites include the Half Life series, Ratchet & Clank, Beyond Good & Evil and Arkham Asylum. Not very original, I know, but hey I know what I like.
Wow, I've typed quite alot haven't I?

evening all, or at least its evening in Vancouver, Canada.
Rhys here, not exactly certain how this is supposed to work so I'm just gonna run with it until I can't think of anything else to say. I have been a fan of LRR for a couple of years now and was introduced to them by a friend of mine who showed everyone the 'Fun with Microwaves'video at a gathering. I took it to be a dedicated spreader of this video in particular because it was awesome. (plus I never knew what happened when you put soap in a microwave) so that was that, I just started my post-secondary education and hope to transfer to Uvic to become a history teacher. I'm an eternal optimist and a procrastinator. Which as it may come as no suprise I'm a dedicated video gamer. I have a long past with videogames. When I was five my family had an N64. well...still have and it still runs and I frequently play it. I'm not just a vintage gamer I own an XBOX 360 and used to play it a lot more. The reasons behind me stoping were I grew tried with the homophobic and general unpleasentness of the Modern Warfare and Halo players. I'm not saying that everyone on XBOX Live is like this so all you Live players don't jump to conclusions about that. I just got fed up and am taking a break. Also I am a reecently recovered WoW addict. I played that drug for a year and thanks to that I failed a Grade 11 course. Well if you have not guessed it I'm a big nerd. As if my alias is not obvious enough. I am obsessed with Firefly, Doctor Who, Pushing Dasies and Scott Pilgrim. I have a nice collection of Starwars figures and other stuff. I apologize if I get hard to follow but I am very scatterbained and essily distracted. I recently discovered that I have a great talent for writing and am currently writing a possible series. A friend of mine may draw out and I may have a graphic novel comming in the late late LATE future. If anyone wants to check out my concept and the first chapters let me know and I'll investigate posting links or just e-mail them to you all. I think that's everything so I'm going to end this soon and also I got dinner waiting for me. I thank everyone fore reading to the end and I'm sorry if you can't quite grasp my thought process.
Cheers to you all
Rhys Lazenby (aka SniperDalek)
