Zeldathon

Postby miakosummin » 22 May 2007, 19:48

Sometime this summer, Brendan, Tyler, and I, will be attempting a humble feat of gaming: Defeat the entirety of the Zelda series in one week.

This includes:
The Legend of Zelda
The Adventure of Link
A Link To The Past/Four Swords. (Defeating FS unlocks an extra dungeon in LttP, so we will be defeating both.)
Link's Awakening DX
Ocarina of Time
Majora's Mask
Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons Linked Game
Wind Waker
Four Swords Adventures
The Minish Cap
Twilight Princess
Link: The Faces of Evil
Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon
Zelda's Adventure

The following are possibilities:
The Legend of Zelda Second Quest
Ocarina of Time Master Quest

All games will be played on their original consoles whenever possible, although for old games, emulation substitutions may be needed. If we can get a Wii version of TP, we will, but most likely it'll be gamecube.
The final three games in the list are the fearsome CD-I games. Look them up on youtube.
All games will be done by the one of us who have the least experience with that particular game. Each of us will be subjected to one CD-I game, and the two Four Swords game will be played with a fourth person.

We are going to record as much as we can, and have a running commentary of all of the games. During the week, all games played must be Zelda, all music listened to must be Zelda soundtracks, and all porn watched must be Zelda hentai, or at least elf related. At all times we each have to have a piece of the triforce tattood onto us with sharpie (although not particularly on the hand, which should be fun to decide)

Umm...yeah. Thats about it. Any suggestions/comments/challenges/etc.

We aren't going to have any sound for OoT. We would seriously, seriously go insane.

Wow this seems like it will be quite fun to do. I dunno if I could do it because I'm not a mega fan of the old old Zelda games, and I'd get stuck with them since you're all playing ones you have least experience with. ;) I'd trounce Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask though, and possibly Twilight Princess, though I've only beaten it once as opposed to 400 times.

Also, you are very brave and awesome for doing the CD-i games. I bet you can't wait to bomb some Dodongos! Are you gonna draw straws to see who gets which? Cause whomever gets Wand of Gamelon is the one who will need the most therapy afterwards.

Oh that would be an awesome challenge to partake in. I think I have all those games except the Oracles games and Minish Cap (though I have beat the emulator of it). I can't wait to see the results of this.

I lol'd quite good at that part, cause you know it will happen eventually.

See ya

:)

You'll be beating both Zelda 1 quests?

Challange:
Beat LttP with only min hearts (to exit levels), no sword (much be lost when you give to smiths to upgrade it), no shield (let a dark world creature eat it), no magic powder, no 1/2 magic use, no bottles & no armor? I can get to gannon at the end but he always kills me when he has one hit left & so do i.

Are you playing the SNES LttP on the Wii VC? I prefer that zelda to the GBA 4 Swords version.

What games do you actually have and which are emulated. Do you have the Zelda's collectors disc for GC??

Seems it will be the Four Swords version only.

Also, I look forward to the Four Swords Adventure footage just to see it done with four people, I could only ever do it with two people.

Man, with school, it took me a week to beat Majora's Mask in its entirety. Then again I was kind of doing a challenge. Obtain every item, mask, and piece of heart before beating any of the temples. Wasn't too hard.

Uh, as for emulation, I think that everything pre-n64 will have to be emulated, with the exception of the GBA LttP. Although together we've owned every zelda game (except for the CD-Is) so I'm banking on it to be all legal...

As for the CD-I games, I really have no idea. I'll have to look for an emulator later. >_< I never thought of that...

Costumes, I don't think we'll be able to do. I don't understand the shiek reference, but I'm going to assume its a sexuality joke, so :P.

I do own the gamecube zelda collection, although I only have one version, so the person playing OoT will be using it. The Zelda 1 and 2 will be emulated.

And for the 3 hearts challenge, as well as Zelda 1 second quest, I'm going to flat out say noooo. XD I highly doubt the three of us can even beat the games in a week let along doing side-quests and challenges XD

Ah, its going to be a week-long affair. All we do, other then work, is Zelda. Although on our way to work we'll be playing zelda on the gameboy. Although whenever we can get together to play, we will be.
And we're going to be making a movie :3
