All three words, "Loading", "Ready", and "Run" have multiple meanings.

Loading - n. ~ a weight placed on something, a filler substance, etc.
Loading - v. ~ loading a program, loading a box, etc.
Ready - v. ~ to make ready
Ready - adj. ~ ready to be used
Run - v. ~ to stride, physically run with your legs
Run - v. ~ to activate, as in run a program
Run - n. ~ a run to the store, setting out at a run, a bombing run, etc

I went to a JRR Tolkein festival and got to try on some old medieval clothes, which was awesome, the hat was amazing and it felt like I was in Final Fantasy or something. I even got to hold a sword. Yay!

This is just me being picky, so if you don't wanna read me being picky, go find a thread about penguins somewhere, or something. *grins*

I think we need a new word for modern day "swords". Actual swords don't exist any more, except as heirlooms and archeological artifacts, or the occasional old family of Japanese swordsmiths and whatnot. Modern "swords" are just replicas. They're not even remotely the same things, except that they're shaped similarly and are made of metals.

The sheer craftsmanship of an actual sword is far and away above any replica. Replicas aren't intended for combat, so all you need to do is make them resemble a sword shape, without actually having any of the qualities of an actual sword.

Anywho, if you want to learn about real swords, craftsmanship, combat, etc, visit your local library.

Call it what you will, of course. I call them replicas, or replica swords to specify. But then, I am of course just a picky muck-a-muck.

Try crafting a LARP sword. The mix of materials required and the sheer patience trying to shape it is extreme.
Hence why im not even going to try for a while.
The fact it has to be durable, lightweight and everything a sword is (bar sharp of course) yet be safe, lets face it, being safe to use isnt high on a swordmakers list of requirements, is pretty dam hard and costly in time+money


but their bloody awsome, only weapon you could actually beat someone with without being arrested.
