Every time. There's something about the combination of orchestral music and huge machinery that gets to me.
Go on, call me a freak.
I get much the same effect from this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B182UlkuME

Alex, you're a freak.
And we love you for it.
*grins*
See, at least with me, there are two major aspects of my mind (among a total of several aspects) that conflict directly when watching this. There's the whole realistic side of me, that wants to be baffled by the inefficient, fantastical, whimsical, and otherwise non-realistic machinery, energy, physics, fashion, and what-have-you present in that video.
Then, there is the geek aspect, that says, "Ya know what Rationality? You can, of course, go fuck yourself. This stuff is fucking awesome."
This video appeals greatly to that latter portion of my being. I admit, at first, Rationality tried to pipe in with comments and critiques, but after about ten seconds I shut that portion of my brain up and instead let my inner geek have the reins (or in this case the giant assault-mecha control console).
I say again, that was fucking awesome. Reminded me of Dominion Tank Police a little. (I've only minor exposure to anime, tis the best example I can think of.) As for orchestral music with scenes of grand engineering, I think that orchestral music with anything grand works very well. Look at Princess Mononoke.
Anywho, I've let my inner geek ramble enough for now. Thanks again Alex!

You know, I didn't actually address things that make me cry. Hmm.
Well, I've not yet seen the movie, but I know that when I do get around to seeing Grave Of The Fireflies, it'll really hit me pretty badly.
And I will admit, I cried when SPOILER (Sorry 3mm4! Doh!). The world simply cannot endure such a blow without great sorrow.

When my brother and I were little, my mom would never let us see Bambi. She always said, she didn't see the point of subjecting us to that.
So one day, when my brother was very young (three, to be exact), she took him to the theatre to see a nice kids movie.
The Land Before Time.
It did not end well for anyone.

Easily one of the the most powerful game soundtracks yet.
Also, two more pieces of music that always get to me:
Chorale Reprise - Katsuhiro Otomo's Memories
Journey To Avalon - Mamoru Oshii's Avalon
EDIT: Actually, this would be a great time for me to release a preliminary version of my "Ultimate Orchestral" mix CD. Let me tweak a few things first.

Damnit! Sorry 3mm4! I fixed my post, mind editing your quote so that other readers can be spared my spoilers?
I just didn't think about it. Such a good show, and been out so long. But frack! I feel like a real jerk now, SUCH an experience, and I ruined it for you... bah! *pulls at hair*

Alex, you would probably like OverClocked Remixes if you don't already.
They have some really, really, really top notch stuff. You can find any genre of music almost, but the Orchestral stuff is pretty big with a lot of the guys on OCRemix. I would highly recommend checking their stuff out, I'm certain you'll find plenty to enjoy.
I recommend the FF7 Philharmonic Suite (in two parts) as a good jumping on point. Midway down the page.

Wha? It's the worlds longest robot transformation. This makes you cry?

Alex, I don't know if it would make you cry but if you're into steampunk with good music, do check out the anime Last Exile. I never finished it myself (network stopped showing it) but what I was able to watch kept me interested enough.
Speaking of anime, Grave of the fireflies is a definite must see. Stop putting it off, all of you!
Any rendition of 'Prayer of the Children' always puts me in a solemn state.

Just so we're on the same page, it doesn't make me sad - just... Moved.
Something about vast amounts of raw power being marshalled to some fantastic purpose really gets me, especially with a good soundtrack.
It's just so... Mighty. Inspires me to do illustrations like this:
I actually envisioned a whole deployment sequence where it would be airdropped, impacting its land zone with a kiloton of kinetic force. Then the crew inside would scramble to ready stations, throwing levers, madly cranking wheels, stoking coal (yes, it runs on steam) and it would sloooowly stand fully upright and emit this basso growl that would shatter windows four miles away.
My mind tends to get away from me.

Shortly before I was banned for making "Inuyashaboy05" cry (true story, real name) we had a long thread about Graveyard of The Fireflies on the Adult Swim message board.
The general consensus was that the kid was a dumbass for leaving his family (even if they DID treat him like absolute crap). There is a fairly good chance he would have survived, albeit being mal-nurished, had he not.

Spoiler: Children do not make rational decisions.
In fact, neither do Adults, if you think about it.
