Woman arrested for having dry lawn

Postby The Pious Flea » 10 Jul 2007, 11:38

US woman arrested over dry lawn
"A 70-year-old US woman has been left bruised and bloody after an unexpected clash with police who came to caution her for not watering her lawn."

Huh. Now, what kind of self-respecting citizen would let their lawn go fallow during a drought? Clearly she deserved to be beaten with handcuffs - with that lack of civic pride, the officers were right to do it.

She's lucky she wasn't black.

Anyone remember when two cops in the US emptied a magazine and a half each into a black guy who tried to pull out his wallet? Yes, they shot him - ran out of bullets - reloaded - and kept shooting before they figured out he wasn't armed. (citation needed)

Alex, it's in one of the Whatever Things, but I can't remember which one.

EDIT:

It's the Panda Porn Whatever Thing. I just checked ExtremePoliceShootingStoryipedia (ie the LRW).

Alright I'm thinking there's something missing from that story.

I used to work at a Golden Coral (a Buffet place) and there was this tiny little bitch waitress there. She was in her fifties I think, and didn't speak great english (she was asian), but she was annoying as hell. The official report in that restaurant is that I was fired because I punched her in the face.

Now, if there was a headline that said "6'4 martial artist punches 5'3 50-year old waitress" it would seem pretty messed up, right?

Here's the thing: total bull-shit rap. Another waitress friend of mine was having a rough day because her grandfather had died. This little bitch waitress was riding her all day, so I walked up to her and I told her to cut my friend some slack. Bitch waitress start screaming at me YOU DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO I OLDER THAN YOU I WORK HER LONG TIME YOU NOT WAITER DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO! And then, as far as I can tell, she decided she was going to just shove me out of the way. Maybe she was used to that at her house, I don't know. But she shoved me, and crossed my arms and stood there. Now, mind you, there was at least three feet of space to my left She could could have gone around, but this lady was going to MOVE me. And I was not going to be moved. So she turns around and I think she walking away.

Bitch rams me. She walks five or six feet away and charges full steam ahead and runs into me. Head first. Then she walks off and insists I punched her.

The manager said "her face did look a little red". Thing is, I've been into martial arts since I was seven. If I had punched this woman in the face, best case scenario, she would have a massive bruse. Worse case scenario, I would have knocked her out and broken something. Her face would not have been "a little red".

Thing is, no one cared about what the real story was. There was a big guy and a small woman and aligation of abuse. That's all that mattered. The thought that some cop walks up to a seventy year old woman and goes "hrmmmm. She's old. I should hurt her. Let's see...pepper spray...no...night-stick...nah...fist to teh face...nah OH! I know, I'll take out my cuffs sucker-puch her with them!" seems a bit fishy to me. Combine this with the fact that the media will always make things look as bad as they can, because terrible things make for a "better" story, and I'm a bit skeptical.

I'm not saying nothing inapropriate happened, but let's just say I'd give the office the benefit of the doubt long enough to get his version of teh story.

i agree with ya wraith. odds are we'll never know the whole story, not like it was caught on camera or anything (like the little old lady beat up by cops in new orleans during rescue operations because she said "i'm bringing my gun". That's different)

i think it's rather silly for towns/citys/etc. to tell you how to keep your lawn if it's NOT unsafe/unsanitary. so much for "priviate property" & "land of the free", huh? Get a ticket because you're lawn's brown. :(

Oh, no, we should totally not bother to get his version of the story and just have him fired.

using her ass as a battering ram, then died on the floor, ten times!

Wraith, arnt there usualy cameras in restrants?

Its always about who goes to tell first. The first story is always more believable then the second.

Cameras? In a Golden Coral? It's a buffet/steak house.

The Best thing about the Lawn Story is that the cop cuffed her with his handcuffs.
