Was that actually on TV? AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA
Wow.

Well, if you think about it, if people hadn't messed with Anonymous in the first place they wouldn't get raided and/or otherwise messed with.

Anonymous is the worst thing on the planet. It kills people, fathers babies, rapes women, rigs games, brutalizes criminals, molests children, and buys Girl Scout cookies.

And that's why we love Anonymous.

news reports like these (there are so many around) are so funny! I love how they explain stuff but are either wrong or just plain dumb.

It's amazing how these news programs who can hunt down predators and criminals and uncover all these big secrets are always so freaking clueless about the internet.

The threat of Anonymous! They're so powerful! It's...it's almost as if they're thousands of unafiliated people who aren't necessarily identifying themselves as anonymous...THEY'RE JUST NOT IDENTIFYING THEMSELVES.

I just wanna know what the heck is up with the yellow van thing. Is it supposed to be a dirty bomb, or 4chan blowing up the party van?
Also 4chan hasn't had a /i/ for quite a while now.

The woman claims that Anonymous is a bunch of domestic terrorists. As in the kind of people who set up car bombs outside an Oklahoma City office building.

All I can say is that no one on the internet is truely anonymous, not even these 'hackers'. And they all know it's just a matter of time until someone gets caught and their whole organization gets arrested for terrorist activities or some sort of criminal act.

Plus, gay porn on a kid's myspace page? Sounds like these 'hackers' are just cyber bullies from the kid's school.

And may I just say, "Is Paul's Boyfriend Cheating on Him?"...

Myspace can legally sell password lists. The same way companies can put spyware and adware into their software legally.

Did you notice that nothing was reported of "Anonymous" breaking into password-protected sites? What does myspace care that a few hundred of their millions upon millions of subscribers are getting targeted?

All those "hackers" needed was an ISP/IP address, and either a brute-force tool or bought password lists.

Diagnosis: Myspacia. This is caused by mindless abuse of this site. "Abuse" can be defined in over-use, physical, or mental degradation of said object. Myspacia has claimed the lives of millions. Symptoms of said disease are loss of skin color and fear of light. Inability of reacting to real-life social situations, sycophantic use of acronyms in every-day speech, constant "top ten" conversations, and obsessive page-layout planning can mark the beginnings of a person contracting this deadly disease.

Cure: Stop using Myspace. It sucks. Literally.

Myspace can not sell password lists legally. It would violate their privacy policy, which is a legally binding contract.

Also, of the cases of identity theft where a computer was involved with said theft, 90% of the time, the victim did something stupid, and there was no actualy hacking involved. For starters, I fix people's computers for a living, and I frequently have to get people's passwords to fix their machines, or help them diagnose login problems, and I'm shocked at how many people, in this day and age, still use things like their dogs names, their kids names, THEIR OWN NAMES, 123456, etc. They fall for the most ridiculously obvious phishing sites (dude, just look at the address, if it doesn't say "myspace.com" as the second and thid groupings, IT'S NOT FRIGGIN MYSPACE), they respond to stupid emails, they click on flashing ads, they download obvious spyware (which goes undedected because they either don't have any protection, or they heard Spybot was good five years ago, and still use the copy they got back then, which, of course, they have never updated); in short, they treat look at a computer as if it was a TV: they want to turn it on and just be abel to do everything without putting any thought whatsoever into it.

And then they wonder how those clever, insidious hackers got to them.

I agree with you wraith, a lot of people think they get "hacked" but really they were just careless.
Heck, when we were in high school we all knew Bill's password for his bank card. he later told us that he changed the number but that was not true, he just said to to make us not want to try to use it. Basically, anyone that wanted to could have broken into his bank account at any time. he's just lucky none of us wanted to lol.

Also, putting porn on the guy's myspace account? it was probably someone he knows. maybe even the guys girlfriend because she wanted a good excuse to break up with him :P
Oh no! you must be gay! *breakup time*

Apon further investigation, this alex guy seems like a pussy.... looks to me like he used to be an annon (or just someone that wanted to be funny by doing this kind of stuff to others) pissed off the wrong guy and now people are doing it to him. He freaked out and called the news (with the help of his parents maybe?) which is only going to make life worse for this guy.
I think his best bet is to move to another city and stop posting his real name and info on the internet for a while....

Even moving won't help the guy.

Anonymous are everywhere, and his face is very well known. Where ever he moves, another local Anonymous will find him and do the same thing over again.

He just needs to quiet down and stop bringing attention to himself and Anonymous will eventually leave him alone.

This is what I meant.

I think they are mistaking these "hackers" for assholes with access to the internet.
