Camping around Victoria

Postby sweeks » 16 Aug 2007, 16:23

I was wondering if anyone knows of a decent inexpensive campground around Victoria. We will just need it for one night as we pass through.

Check out Goldstream. It's pretty good if it's just a one-nighter.

I know. I wasn't really suggesting it, or I would've given directions to a really good campsite up there.

All I remember of my visit to Youbou is visiting the ruins of a lumber mill or something.

There's a nice little place just past the mill that's really good for camping, but more worth it if you stay there for a few days.

I was just camping at a campsite just outside of Youbou.

Maple Grove at Lake Cowichan.
It was nice.

Seriously, like someone else mentioned, goldstream camp ground is probably your best bet. it's near the malahat so not too far out of town either.

just got back from camping at the beach... yeah it went from like a million degrees to storming horribly to being freezing... and the fucking bugs!!!! but other then that it was fun... I don't get why more people don't go camping, its cheap and if you got the right stuff, its really fun!

Francis and I like to rough it at sombrio beach. so beautiful there and if you hike a little ways from the "popular area" you can spend a long time without seeing anyone. so peaceful.
