Yeah, for some reason I was kinda expecting something similar.

Hey, anyone got some cheap suits and water balloons? I have an idea for a new video...

(BTW this is kinda long, but please read...)

I will agree that threads started by spambots should be deleted, and that some stuff can be found offensive in some people's eyes. I will grant you that.

HOWEVER...

Let's really get to the root of this problem. First of all, you made a movie and posted it on the internet. When it comes to the creative process, the creator can take their work so seriously that any negative feedback could be deemed mean or nasty. Looking at the movie, I myself found that it needs a lot more work, namely in video quality and continuity. Am I calling you any horrible offensive names? No. Is it just as harsh that i said it needs a lot more work? That's your own call. No need to respond.

The next point, people didn't like the movie and complained and razzed you about it, and you wanted them to lock the thread down or delete their comments. Yet, you want your opinion to be heard on the topic of people being mean. This is completely hypocritical. You are, in short, forcing people to either agree with you or agree with you deleting their opinions. If other people don't agree with you, then you can either respectfully disagree, or completely ignore.

Next, you posted a complaint about said thread on a completely different forum, including comments involving "etiquette of forums". The only way you can expect different results from the opinions seen on the other forum is to post it on YOUR OWN forum, where only you are allowed to speak. The internet is too diverse in age, gender, intelligence, and creed for you to expect everyone to agree with you. So take a deep breath and move on.

As for etiquette online, this can only be enforced according to the TOS, much like others have said. I'm sure that if someone posted real hardcore porn on the boards here, one of the mods would delete the post and take action to prevent it from happening again. As for what is and isn't offensive, I must repeat Wraith's response. It is all relative.

Political correctness, part of this 'offensive' issue, can be good, but only when used in moderation. The cocktail made with Kahlua and vodka is NOT an "African-American Russian", it's a Black Russian. This is just one example of how it can get out of control.

In closing, the world is offensive, and seeing as the internet was created to connect the world, it will end up including this offensive character. Take people's comments and advice with a grain of salt.

I think it would have been better if you had said something like, "Is he as good of a master debater as Morgan?" :P

Well, this has certainly being the best thing I've watched all week. Like pretty much everyone else right now, I side with Wraith. This is the internet, I expect everyone to insult and ridicule me every time I make a post, and I find it hilarious how people act when they have complete anonymity. If you don't like what someone says, ignore it. It doesn't matter what the person says, if you can't stand it, you can always just close the browser window and never go back to that forum again, it's really not that difficult.

As with the subjective offensiveness of posts, Lavos is a perfect example. Almost every other thing he says could be considered "offensive indeed beyond subjectiveness", but most of us find what he says hilarious, because we know and expect him to act like that, that's why we love him (and jumped to his defense when someone made a poll attacking him a while back), and as for "You a mother fucking bitch", I do not find that offensive in the slightest, at least not over the internet. That person does not know me, I do not know him, so I'm perfectly willing to turn a blind eye to that. But when it comes to using religious terms like "Jesus", you know that there are a lot of extremely religious people who will take offense to that, and it will insult a whole lot more people than just the one person you're targeting with "You a mother fucking bitch". So really, it can be argued that there's a whole lot more grey area with that than with religion, because you know that the odds are someone will get insulted by that, but when it comes to the internet and insults against a single person, you do know know whether or not that person will take offense, or just see you as a troll and ignore you.

So in the end god0fgod, take a chill pill, and grow a thicker skin, there are a lot of better things to get all uptight about (see "Offensisensitivity" for examples).

You a mother fucking bitch

You know, certain forums I go to would treat this a perfectly acceptable phrase to say to someone, in a whole range of situations, but treat unfunny junk as an injustice against mankind. I think Wraith nailed this one pretty perfectly.

He really is. He's undefeated on these forums, I believe.

Did you see some of the stuff that Hitman used to post?
