Jesus people are mean

Postby god0fgod » 18 Aug 2007, 06:57

People are posting this on another bulletin board to this:

Some bored guy who want's to annoy me wrote:You want it locked because people did not like your ridiculously retarded videos. How is it off topic, we are commenting on the things that the OP(You.) posted. You obviously are offended and do not like the comments so you want people to stop commenting. The sarcasm is not funny. Your videos were poorly planned, and even worse in execution. I highly suggest you keep your day job and quit making stupid videos.

My assumption of you being 13 is the fact that it is something that an extremely immature and young person would think of as funny.

Oh and your forum failed horribly. Hell at least when I made a forum we had more than 12 users and 300 posts. Lmao.

Some bored guy who want's to annoy me wrote:You must be either 13 years old(My guess) or generally retarded(Another Possibility.). You will get no where in life if you didn't learn from people's criticism. I feel sorry for you, and your parents. Having a kid so stupid must be hard.

Another bored guy who want's to annoy me wrote:Delete the video, email youtube and ask to delete you account.
That was so damn boring mate, and very very very annoying.

And one more bored guy who want's to annoy me wrote:You obviously have no internal intuition on humor, so stop wasting your time and do something productive. If you have to ask people whats funny then you have no business in comedy.

Are you trying to one-up Corax by posting an extremely pointless thread? Cause if so, it succeeded.

WTF, mate?

Alright, so stop me if I'm off-base here:

You made a crappy video, spammed a messageboard with it, and then felt butt-hurt when people didn't like it?

Rule #1 of posting original content on the internet: IT IS THE INTERNET. In other words, you've just put it on display for, quite literally, the entire planet to view. People are going to criticise.

Users are allowed to do so, I only accept constructive critism, There is no need to be harsh and my video wasn't that bad and it was incomplete anyway.

No, there isn't. There's also no need to put unfinished products that you can't take people not liking up on youtube. It's the internet. Peopler are critical here. If you can only handle constructive criticism, I would advise you to find a community where the TOS forbid non-constructive citicism, not the fourth most popular webside on the internet.

Also, putting up a video, giving it your own rating, and THEN blocking ratins? That is some cheap, bush-league crap, man. If you're going to disable ratings, then do it the moment you post so there IS no rating. Don't freeze it when it's good.

I didn't disable ratings. It has two good ratings so far. A few good comments as well.

The internet shouldn't be harsh if it's moderated. The thread was finally locked but it took time. would have given warnings and possibly temporary bans.

People should learn to use constuctive critism and should never get personal as some people do. They just want to play with people and should be banned.

Moderating all the forums on the internet in that way will never happen, sorry.

As for the video, I though it had potential up until you blue screened it and just put in text and spliced sounds. That was pretty much the majority of the video. Videos where you are just splicing scenes together and bleeping words need to be short and fast paced.

If the internet was moderated, it wouldn't be the internet.

Not the internet as a whole. Bulletin boards is what I'm mainly talking about. Administrators and moderators have the duty to keep the forums clean.

BTW I posted an incomplete spoof so I could have suggestions. Is anyone wants to watch the video feel free to give some but no "That was crap" stuff allowed.

No, they don't. The duty of the Admins and moderators vary greatly deponding on the forum. Not all forums have anythin in the TOS that says people have to walk around on eggshells for fear of offending someone. You should go hang out on Dumbrella sometime.

Unless a forums TOS specifically forbids it, I advice you to assume going into a forum that people are going to be generally hostile.

welcome to the internet.

I'm talking morally they should. The moderation at qj is quite good but slow at times.

I'm still gonna disagree with you. Different communites have different purposes, and not all of them function well with censorship.

Different communities have different definitions of "gret discussion."

Basically what you've said is that boards that aren't doing great shouldn't necessarily be moderated? If so I'll what I said into With any discussion comes great responsibility. Remember that Wraith. Remember that.

Not even close.

What I said was that what YOU consider "great discussion" and what other communities consider "great discussion" is going to clash quite frequently. Get used to it.

Okay lets get this clear. All owners of existing boards should moderate spam, porn, swearing and offensive posts. Thats my opinion. You of course may have another.

I didn't say thats reality did I?

Porn? What if it's a pornographic message board? And "offensive posts" are subjective. What offends YOU is hilarious to other people.

And swearing? You want a blanket ban on swearing? On internet message boards?

Dude. Leave. Leave the internet. Turn around, and run -don't walk- away from here. This is not the place for you.
