Super awesome!
This was by far the best teen movie I have ever seen, hands down.

The movie could have the worst previews ever and I would see it purely for Micheal Cera.tak197 wrote:I'm glad you liked it guys. Honestly, I found the previews to make the movie seem a lot like American Pie. Seeing as I found that movie pretty dumb, I'm not interested in going to go see this one.
Plus I always have popups on Ruckus for that damn movie and I want them to stop.
But seriously, I'm thinking the whole point of the movie is about dudes fucking up on the ladies. Which is not funny at all in my opinion. Its basically the saddest shit ever.Cake wrote:Lavos wrote:Fucking up when tryin to get the ladies seems more sad then funny..

Note the rating. It's not a "teen" comedy. It's a comedy about teens, but it's very adult humour.
I highly recommend it. Seriously.
QFT. I hate how some people say how it's like American Pie and that they wouldn't want their kids to see it. I mean, c'mon!
I came upon the trailer a little over two months ago and this was one my most eagerly anticipated movies of the summer. For what I expected, the movie certainly did not disappoint and even surprised me a little with the (small amount of) 'serious' dialogue they had. It was hilarious at parts and mostly amusing throughout; however, there were still a few parts that kinda dragged but did not detract from the movie.
It's a certain, almost specific, type of humor that happens to appeal to a lot of the movie-going audience but it's still not for everyone. I think that in this case, it would fair to say that watching the previews would give you a good idea of whether or not you'd enjoy the movie.
Is there anyone left on here that doesn't watch a preview before seeing a Hollywood release? I.E. anyone who goes to see a movie on a whim, based on a poster, or just by word of mouth?
To LRR is human.

I understand that it isn't American Pie. To me, it's basically the same premise, except in American Pie they don't totally fuck things up.

Roger Ebert gave it three and a half stars.
Now, you may not agree with his opinions in general. Just because he doesn't like a film, doesn't mean the film isn't good, perhaps in ways he's not particularly interested in.
But I've found that the stuff he thinks is good, virtually always is. Three-and-a-half stars is a very rare rating from him, surpassing quite a lot of films that I loved but he only gave three - or two - to.
I may end up seeing it.
