Proof the Doctor is a playah

Postby Dr Frankenjam » 27 Nov 2007, 10:46

Last night fans that live near Doctor Who's filming locations got photographs of what must be the biggest surprise return to the show: Billie Piper is back.

After the fans' gossip was picked up this morning by UK newspapers, the BBC announced that it's true, adding that Billie "will star in three episodes of the drama, reprising her role as the Doctor's companion, Rose Tyler".

So yes, there will be three companions next year and they are all expected to overlap: Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman and Catherine Tate. It'll be the first time the Doctor has travelled with three companions at the same time since 1983 when Peter Davison was in charge of the Tardis.

Did not they close off the universe Rose is in from the one the Doctor is in?

Doesn't that pretty much tear the universe apart, though?

I know enough that in any show which features a time machine bigger on the inside than on the outside that looks like a British police box from the 1960s anything is possible.

Well maybe not anything.

Well, this is true, but it's also Doctor Who, so anything can happen, as Chrusher stated.

Lame.

There's a difference between virtually anything being possible, and excuses made for bad writing.

They've already had enough bad writing in the show, they don't need to make it worse.

Yeah, but we don't know what the plot is yet. I mean, it could be ANYTHING. There is no reason to say it is badly written because you haven't seen it. It could be completely brilliant, who knows?

Have you *seen* the past season? Only one episode was well-written.

Blink. Most sophisticated story and plot development thus far, and although the monsters themselves carried on the tradition of cheesiness, the way they were handled was masterful.

Every other episode has been bad cheese. Good cheese is delicious. Bad cheese... is rotten milk.

I agree. "Blink" was good, but there were other really great episodes as well. Like, "Smith and Jones" or "Gridlock" or "42". They all did what they needed to do really well and were some of the best.

I'm sorry, but did anyone even WATCH that season?

42? Human Nature? Family of Blood?

THE ENTIRE 3-PART FINALE???

Seriously, people.
