is it bad that i think some of these things are kinda cool?

-being clumsy I like the tray with the fingers in it
-constantly burning toast is fucking annoying and that toaster thing looks kinda cool
-and seriously its hard to cut some butter, and i hate it when people cut it wrong...
-and the beach towel is just funny
-the movable bench seems kinda useful...

and yeah.. i think it all works.. so what?

Although the glass does not currently get hot enough to toast bread,

Just a minor problem currently

thats because glass is a type of ceramic, which in its properties is an insulator, not a conductor, therefore it doesn't let enough heat pass through it too actually cook the bread... this is something that a materials scientist would actually work on.. yay, now i have an example for what to say when people ask me what materials science and engineering is!!

I have seen the banana saver, the laser scissors, and the tea dipper before.

The scissors wouldn't work, because as soon as you moved the scissors, the laser would move with it.

Unless the laser is free floating with a gyroscope attached!

Yes and we could add a cup holder, and an automatic hand warmer....

These are gonna be some bad ass scissors

Wouldn't you just try to keep the lazer lined up all the time, if it moves then move it back.... that's what keeps it straight.

I'm tickled pink to finally see a solution to the banana problem. Say goodbye forever to unprotected... bananas.

Seriously, wake me up when the announce the electric banana sharpener. I would buy one. Immediately.

I'm not seeing the finger tray as being useful, since it would be hard to make plates stay flat on the surface of the tray, seeing as there are giant bumps for your fingers in it. What I COULD see was if there was some other suface above that, maybe made of foam, so the finger bumps wouldn't impede plate placement.

The butter cutter... how often do you people really need a whole pat of butter, anyway? I just keep mine in its wrapper, and peel it off little by little, like a push-pop. You just grab it by the wrapper, and apply it like a gluestick.

As for the glass toaster... how do you get the bread out? O_o Do you have to stick a fork in there? Somehow, that doesn't seem all that safe...

And what happens when I want to toast something that's thicker than that? Slightly thinner? I could see waffles being a problem...

Truely, the future... is now.

they make the laser sci-zurz look way cooler than it actually would be, it'd just be a dot on the paper.

My personal favorite weird invention of all time is the Shower Belt

http://idealist.blinkr.net/shower-belt/

I really wish this would actually be produced for general retail instead of being stuck as a concept. I would love to own and use one.

I also would love to have a day clock, just to confuse people who came into my apartment, or keep bananas in individual storage containers for the same reason.

I presume, were this to not be a COMPLETE piece of crap, that the laser attached to the scissors would be fanned out into a line, not unlike what you might get in a laser leveling system.

I still don't see what would prevent anyone from changing their angle of cut and cutting a line that was not straight... in fact, the completely incompetent would probably be so focused on following the red line that, were it to lead them astray, they'd follow it and end up with a nice curved cut.

Is this really a big problem? Do thousands of people like you and me struggle with cutting straight lines in white paper every day? I'm surprised there's no medication for it.

Now there is. If you experience trouble cutting, tearing along dotted lines, or separating perforated edges, you're not alone. Studies show that three out of every stupid people experience some form of cutting impairment. But you don't have to go it alone. Now, new Cutolax (Abronitrolbenzol Bromolithylzine) can help.

Side effects include inability to glue, tape diarrhea, staple cramps, and erectile dysfunction. Consult your doctor before taking any medication, and tell your doctor if you're currently on any other arts-and-crafts enhancing drugs. Stop taking Cutolax immediately and consult your doctor if you experience scarring, blindness, or blood loss, as these may be signs that you are cutting your own flesh and are, in fact, completely hopeless.

Ask your doctor about Cutolax today. Cutolax: Cut Across the Pain.

Fantastic. Now all we need are some images of children playing on playgrounds, old people hugging each other, and an empty swing set, and I'll be a millionaire.

You still can't beat these.

I can't believe they made them steam-powered. Oh, those Victorians! Always up to no good!

Somebody found it was actually easier to cut the paper with the laser than trying to use it in combination with the scissors?
