It starts about 25 minutes from now, at 6:45 EST PM.

Heads up to everyone on the East Coast.

It's the color of Earth's sunsets and sunrises, reflected back at us.

I saw it while running D: I fail for having no good place to view it by means of telescopes.

I came, I saw, and I came again in her mouth.

I guess I shoulda said something, a warning, maybe.

She seemed pretty mad that I didn't tell her there was an eclipse going on.

I was having a party and we went outside about 5 minutes after the peak. It was nice, but it was cold so I went back inside.

I was at church. Me and my friend, Nick, stood and watched it. It was really lovely.

I saw a few pieces, quarter in, quarter to total, nearly total, then went to bed. If not for cold weather (somewhere in the neighbothood of 10 degrees) and needing to get up for work at 5am, I'd've sat for the whole thing. Lookin forward to some pics that may have been taken.

I'm still kicking myself for not finding out about it until this morning. :(

What's worse is it was PERFECTLY clear last night around the time, and I know this because I was out maybe ten or twenty minutes before it was supposed to happen, running an errand, and still didn't even think to look at the moon. :(

grrrrr....

How long for the next one that'll be visible from the Canadian East Coast? :(

there isn't supposed to be another totality until 2010 or something like that

Yep, though I haven't heard when in 2010. Hopefully it's in the summer time so I can lay outside and watch it.

I saw glances of it while driving on the Malahat (a highway that passes through the mountains), but the other people in the car didn't think it was worth stopping at a rest stop to get a better view.

It was still cool.

I don't have a tripod and I couldn't find something to use as one, so I don't have any great pictures. This one is a four second exposure, thus the blur.

The next total lunar eclipse will be December 21, 2010 with totality between 07:40:21 UT and 08:54:34 UT. The eclipse will be best visible from North America although South America, Western Europe and Eastern Australia may be able to see it.
