Definitely anything by Nobuo Uematsu. One of the four playlists on my iPod is all of the Final Fantasy Piano Collections music, as well as the orchestral Final Fantasy concerts.

Lemme see...

-Armored Core
-EINHANDER
-Castlevania SOTN and Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (The PC-Engine CD game that was downgraded to "Dracula X" for the US market)
-Brave Fencer Mushashi
-Armored Core Silent Line for these 2 tracks:
*Silent line mix 1 (1 of 4 mixes. Overall I think this is the best one)
*Rise in arms (EPICCC)
-Twisted Metal 2 (The track name "Hong Kong Crunch" made Alex lol uncontrollably back in the day)
-Final Fantasy Tactics (Nothing short of AMAZING, even prefer it over a lot of Nobuo Uematsu music)
-Vagrant Story (Same team as Tactics. Also we used Vagrant Story Tracks and FFtactics tracks for the 10 episodes of Leons Grate Adventule.

The Stubbs the Zombie soundtrack was pretty good too. Mind you just redux's of classic songs but man it was pretty awesome.

OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU. *Downloads* And the album art... poor Gumshoe!

Golden Sun is amazing. Someone needs to do orchestral versions of all those songs, and STAT. It's really got some great music.

It's such a shame... GS was such an amazing game, and I've talked to so many people who have played it and say the same thing, yet it didn't hit the world by storm. Oh well. I'm still a huge fan. And Isaac is an Assist Trophy in Brawl! SQUEE!

Oh man I didn't even have to think about this one. The music of Silent Hill has haunted my thoughts for at least three years now, and it never seems to get old. Akira Yamaoka is one hell of a musician.

I fail, I didn't even think of Majora's Mask. That was my favorite Zelda in every aspect.

Okay, this is a topic I can really get in on.

In no particular order:

Chrono Trigger
*Search for Chrono Symphonic, you'll thank me

Golden Sun (1 and 2)
Legend of Zelda (Pretty much all of them, even Phantom Hourglass)
*Check out Zreo

Donkey Kong Country (It still surprises me sometimes)
*Kong in Concert

Secret of Mana
Earthbound (As we USaires call it)

Pikmin 1 and 2 (Particularly the complexity of some of the music, that's something you just don't see often enough in recent music in general)

I haven't played enough Final Fantasy to mention too many specifics, but pretty much the entire series gets on the list... But special mention of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, it's a style I really enjoy.

Super Metroid
Metroid Prime games
Tales of Phantasia (Lesser known RPG with a fairly recent GBA release in the west)

Less so but still interesting
Main theme for Brawl

I know there are more but they just aren't coming to mind.
My train of thought is more like a roller coaster that has loop de loops and no safety bars.
I don't know if I'm tall enough to ride.

I sadly have not been able to play the games, but I have hunted down and listened to pretty much all their theme songs on youtube, which is a pretty good testament to the quality of music.

As Alja said, see www.ocremix.org. I listen to everything there (mostly games I know to recognise the music) with the exception of anything with singing in it.

Also, I've got half the songs in Patapon stuck in my head, in various forms of combo intensity.

Katamari.
Mystical Ninja Featuring Goemon.
Chrono Trigger.
FFIX.
...there are more, but I can't think of them now.
Amidst the mists and fiercest frosts,
With barest wrists and stoutest boasts,
I thrust my fists against the posts,
And still insist I see the ghosts.

I think everyone missed a big one: F-zero! I think everyone here can hum them music to Mute City.

I'd say DDR counts, most of the music is so obscure of club music that the game is the only way you'd ever heard about it. Captain Jack for instance, he's done a bunch of songs, but I'd never heard of him till DDR.

And I, for one, have never played F-Zero. Unless its the same song as in SSBM level, I have no idea what it is.

Also everything by Graeme Norgate (Jet Force Gemini, Timesplitters: Future Perfect)...
if I was to make an action movie, I would seek him out.
