Personally, Cross by Justice.
Nothing else really jumped out at me in '07, and Cross was fucking amazing.

Oh crap I forgot to give mine.

I have three favorite albums for 2007

1. Battles-Mirrored

I chose this group based on their VERY unique sound. Also I found myself listening to Atlas and Tonto way to many times.

2. Radiohead- In Rainbows

I love the album but I actually prefer the Scotch Mist version of it.
If you don't know what that is (can't really blame you) go here

3. The Birthday Massacre- Walking With Strangers

have nothing intelligent to say here. I just fucking love TBM and I don't care what anyone else thinks.

I was a HUUUUGE fan of Demon Days.
D-Sides, not so much.
I mean, the originals (B-Sides) were great, but the remixes were very hit and miss.
The Jamie T remix of Kids with Guns is absolute rubbish.

Myself?
Daft Punk's Alive '07 was amazing.
The Good, the Bad and the Queen was also a great album, but came out very very early in 2007 and was pretty much abandoned by radio stations and forgotten by the end of the year.
And, the Kaiser Chiefs' Yours Truly, Angry Mob was just more Kaiser Chiefs - bouncy and catchy indie rock.

It's too hard to choose. Probably because I like a lot of various genres.

Evanescence - The Open Door
Kelly Clarkson - My December
Lady Sovereign - Public Warning
and a bunch more...

I'm sure The Open Door came out in 2006.
Not a bad album though

Off hand I'm thinking The Bravery's "The Sun and the Moon" but Funeral For A Friend gets an honorable mention because despite it not being my favorite album by them, it doesn't ever seem to leave my iPod.

Daft Punk- Alive 2007

I really liked it. May not be the best album of the year but it was certainly what I listened to the most and enjoyed the most

A three-way tie between the Arcade Fire, Radiohead and Robert Plant/Alison Krauss.

EDIT: Mind you, Ween and Rush both had strong outings.

When Our Moon Falls
Also liked:
Super Taranta!
Certified Air Raid Material
Walking with Strangers
In Glorious Times
parle à mon ventre
Icky Thump
Judgment

I know that I am forgetting some.
Also, I listen to a lot of music as individual songs or in podcasts or mixes, so I can't say much about albums.

Someone make a separate thread for favorite songs of 2007.
I would do much better at that.

I also enjoyed the new NIN album (I’m a huge NIN fan), but I enjoyed Reznor’s older stuff a lot more, and that’s why I didn’t list it. In This Twilight is one of my favorite NIN songs though.

It is not obsolete. That's why they still make it. Vinyl is mixed live. Also, it does have better sound quality.

You have no idea how jealous I am. I missed them in Montreal twice, and Ottawa once. Damn ticket prices.
