Ask Kathleen videos?

Postby RENCAMO » 15 Mar 2008, 16:33

I just watched the Ask Kathleen video and I only have one question.
Will there be more?

Maybe it could be incorporated as part of the Phailhaus videos? "Ask Kaphleen"

I want more Phailhaus videos in general, with all sorts of more extra stuff. Ask Kaphleen would be icing on the sweet, sweet delicious pie that is Phailhaus.

Dear Kaphleen,

Every day I write and/or draw more artwork for my webcomic, yet the store remains virtually untouched (And consequently my wallet virtually empty) and the forums are dying a slow cold death. The apparent lack of interest is killing my enthusiasm for the project and I am finding it more and more difficult to get myself to draw more for a comic with no encouragement or reward. What can I do to get more readers?

As an aside, what do you think of my webcomic?

Sincerely, Tim

Dear Tim,

Webcomics are a difficult and lonely path. You have two options: a) Lower your standards for success, or b) Be funnier.

As an aside, we have the same first name, and that rocks.

Sincerely,
Tim

Dear Kaphleen,

would you legally change your name so that all the f's are ph's and/or name pets and/or children phrank, phrederick, phanny, jephph etc.?

Dear Kathleen, (thanks to emma for pointing out the lack of "F" in her name)

I don't have $600 to buy Stormtrooper armor and join the 501st Legion. What should I do?

Cheers,
Lance

Yeah, but it's more fun and fits neatly with the Phailhaus "Ph" style. "Th" is still a homphone of "F".

[phoneticsnazi]
/th/ and /f/ in phonetics are totally different. They really only share the manner of articulation (fricatives) and voicing (- voicing). /f/ is a labiodental fricative and /th/ is an interdental fricative. If they were homophones, 'that' and 'fat' would be pronounced the same. If you don't believe me, say the f sound for three seconds and follow it by the th for three seconds.
[/phoneticsnazi]

I only care because this is part of what I study here at school.

Dear Kathleen,

I have a hard time focusing on the work I need to get done, and as a result I end up stressing out over even the simplest tasks, because I put them off. Do you have any tips for keeping focused and getting things done?

Sincerely,

Alex, the easily distracted.

Dear Kathleen

Every day i find myself more and more sexually attracted to your boyfriend. I do my best to fight the urges but sometimes i think it might not be enough one day. My question is actually completely unrelated, I just thought you might want to know.

Why did the dinosaurs die? I want to be their friend, but i find it hard when i can't seem to find any. (I realize that if i was sticking to LRR cannon i could just befriend Paul, but as far as dinosaurs go, he just isn't cutting it)

Dear Kathleen,

Firstly, I should explain my situation.

I am unsettled with the school I am attending. I am currently enrolled in a tech school (Florida Tech), but I'm not quite happy with the education I'm getting.

I am a physics dual major (the other being software engineering), and the physics department here, despite having large credibility and tie-ins with NASA, seems to be very unorganized and doesn't treat the underclassmen very well. It has an unbalanced course load and the instructor doesn't see a problem with it.

I am considering three other schools to transfer to, but have some sort of mental roadblock that stops me from pursuing them. I'm not sure if it is fear of the change, or me not wanting to second guess the first school I picked without giving it more time. The other three schools are a game-design specific school (Digipen), another tech school (Rochester Tech), and an art school with a great game design program (Savannah College of Art and Design).

Also, my parents are not very supportive about me transferring because they want me to stay relatively close to them.

I suppose I just need advice as to how I should rationalize transferring to myself and a way to talk my parents into letting me, since they are the ones paying for it.

Thanks for the time and effort,
CT.

Dear Kathleen,

This guy I know made posted a blog entry disguised as a call for advice on the LoadingReadyRun forums. What is the most tactful way for me to expose him for the silly emo blogger that I have discovered him to be? I still want to be friends with him afterwards, but I'm not sure how I can embarass him without turning him into my mortal enemy.

Thanks,

Dear Kathleen,

I have long considered writing a children's book, and have several ideas, but have no idea how to break into the market. Any suggestions?

Not quite there anymore, but qft, and is there any way to overcome it other than *checks calender* a year and a half of general awkwardness, horrible mistakes, and challenging people to swordfights in the middle of class? (ok, the last one I probably would have done anyways, but I also probably would have used blunted blades, not sharpened ones).
