Being from the states I have to defend the National Guard. They do more then accidently bomb apartments. They also help politicians children dodge the draft.

Well, sounds like pilot or 'load-toad' error - either the 'weekend warrior' accidentally hit "release hardpoint #6" while adjusting the flaps or trim after take-off, or maybe the airdale(s) mounting the training bombs didn't quite secure this one...

This is far from the only instance of accidental weapons release - just like anything man-made (including promises), they break.

And Tulsa isn't alone in the 'bombed by it's own forces' club - Boise City, OK got a full training bombing run by a B-17 back in '43. Apparently the crew was doing a night practice mission and got disoriented (guess this is part of the reason the USAAF opted for daylight bombing in WWII?) and mistook the lights around the town square as their target - since it was the middle of the night, no one was around to be harmed.

What makes me wonder, though, is why were there lights on in an empty square? In the middle of the night? Even without a war on, towns and cities typically shut everything down at night to save electricity...

It's a conspiracy. The whole incident was just a cover story for the retaliatory strike called in against an ever-widening portal to Carcosa.

Well, damn. If you're in a city in the middle of nowhere, shit gets bombed on you. If you're in a big city (esp. by the coast), a huge monster screws you over. NO PLACE IS SAFE!
