Beyond Good and Evil 2
I have had this game in my PS2 collection for so long and I did get past the first boss in it, then just stopped playing. Don't get me wrong, it was good but I stopped playing because I was moving house and by the time I got round to playing it again I had forgotten what the hell was going on, so I will start it again some day and actually play it through.

Do yourself this favor: play that game.
It's simple but a lot of fun.
If you have to, break your foot so that you have an excuse to play the game (I do this about three times a year).
It will be well worth it, trust me.

Also can anyone describe WHY it is so awesome without spoiling everything? I mean, I don't even know what genre game it is.
Beyond Good and Evil is a platformer with action fighting elements. It's nothing mould-breaking or anything like that. The key to the amazingness of this game is in its writing. You play as an investigative journalist trying to uncover a vast government plot to destroy the civil liberties of its people. This is done with hilarious writing, a cast of characters with whom it is easy to become emotionally attached, and fun (if not terribly challenging) gameplay.
Now, it's been many a year since I played this game (and my copy has since disappeared; I fear that, in a moment of adolescent stupidity, I may have traded it in), but I would put it beside Psychonauts and MDK2 in terms of creative gameplay twists on stated gameplay-genres and witty, fun dialogue.
