R.I.P Sony

Postby YamaroV2 » 14 Jul 2008, 11:13

For anyone who watched the keynote today, you already know this.

For those who didnt? FFXIII is on the 360.

That's right. Sony's lost all their exclusives.

Microsoft has to compensate for thier gaming console and the 33% failure rate http://www.pcworld.com/article/134144/e ... as_33.html that's why microsoft paid $50 million for exclusive DLC for GTA4 as well... http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/06/tak ... ets_5.html I guess if you can't build a quality console you have to spend a billion dollars http://news.cnet.com/Microsoft-to-exten ... l?hhTest=1 to extend the warranty, and pay money to all the game makers to get more exclusives... well nice job Microsoft, how much money has the Xbox 360 made? :P

oh yeah http://youtube.com/watch?v=GLOPW1Qe1HU

Here's hoping Sony has more than killzone and little big planet up their sleeves then. As long as they continue to produce R and C games and possible Jak games i'm happy.

And I said. "I already have it, and your lack of platformers and decision to turn Banjo Kazooie into a vehicle based game makes me hate you"

I'm so glad to hear this. I'll be the first to admit that Sony puts out some good stuff. But as a company, I hate their freaking guts.

Sony needs to revert back to the days of PS1/PS2 and develop more first-party games.

I'm at work Yam. I don't have that option.

Also, the 360 does not have a 33% failure rate. Maybe (that's a big maybe) the very first run did, but so did the PS2, PSP and PS3.

Now, I'm not hating on Sony. I have a PSOne, a PS2 and a PSP, but 360s aren't as bad as all that.
Besides, the PS3 still has MGS4, which is a fucking FANTASTIC game.

I'm digging pretty hard on my damn-near-launch 360...which has never even hiccuped. I must be awesome.

Anyhow, while I will be getting a PS3 for Blu-Ray playback at some point, I really do home more games hit the system...but man, Square. That's kicking Sony in the balls with a big, spikey boot.

Nor am I hating on sony. I just think with today's announcements, Sony has to hit pretty hard with their keynote tomorrow.

Which, unfortunately, is right after Nintendo's. Sony's got a lot to fight with.

the article about the Xbox 360 having the 33% failure rate was written Jul 3, 2007, the Xbox 360 was released Nov 22, 2005, that's a year and a half later! from my understanding the issue with the 360 is the heat get to be too much for the 360, and the something to do with how the graphics chip was put on the board and now, you have the community working to resolve issues with tricks like 'the towel trick' something I wouldn't recommend as it probably voids the warranty...

for the record, FFXIII may have been announced for 360, but as far as we know the other half of the project FFXIII-versus is still Ps3 exclusive.

This is just me thinking ahead, but I think this should be changed to the official e3 topic just so we don't have to deal with 20 OMG NEW GAME topics come tomorrow.

Congrats the 360 users, you don't have to miss out on a potentially phenomenal Squeenix game.

Also, Sly Cooper & Ratchet and Clank are phenomenal games.
