Too harsh a punishment, too long a time. I don't think it's reasonable to ban someone just because you had to hit the quote button to read it.

If it's a repeating thing, then perhaps a warning then a week ban. However, 2 weeks for one offense is far too harsh.

There's sometimes a good reason to do it, though. The only one I can think of at the moment is to spoiler-proof something, but I'm sure there are others.

That being said, if the text was not worth the effort of figuring out what it said, then go ahead with the ban. It's a values call, really.

i think that is bit too long... for a first offense, sometimes people are not aware of the posting proceedures.... however, if the poster in question is a repeat offender I think, yeah its a good thing...

Two weeks is a little long. I think one day would get the point across.

(Has never messed with the fonts before)

(didn't know that there was weekly bans, either)

This is size 9 Font. It's just barely readable.

They have the option for "Tiny" in that dropdown box. That makes it look like this which is really hard to read. It might be an effective spoiler tag.

What will be the punishment for very large fonts? That's size 29.

What does list do?

    Graham
    Morgan
    Edward James Olmos
    A Can Of Apricot Preserves
A Room With A Door With A Lock
    13 Hours Alone

Enough of this. If anyone needs me, I'll be over here.

As Kool pointed out, the tiny tag is below 9pt. Doesn't seem particularly fair to ban people for using a ready-made forum function. I use the tiny option for the "muttering under my breath" comments.

The first three were fine to me, Vaughn. The one you suggested was pushing it, was pushing it. Stop being a purple people eater.

Nope, smallest I ever use is 9 because it gets the "I'm talking in the small font hee hee" point across, without being unreadable.

I say 'tiny' (7 point) should be the smallest you can use without punishment, and if you're going to make it a rule, make a rules thread at the top of the general forum.

Size 9 is perfectly reasonable, and has been an unofficial rule here for quite a time now, but the newest peoples won't really know that.

just use your ownd judgement, if you want your message to be heard dont use small fonts, its not like we really have to enforce rules about it.
