Games for a poverty-stricken gamer.
Now, I'm a student. For those that don't know, this means I'm poor. Now I like video games, but can't afford a new system (and, more specifically, the TV to go with it).
Can anyone suggest some inexpensive, but fun, games for me?
Systems I own are:
Original Xbox (currently kinda grinding through Halo 2 on Legendary, also a bit of Fable).
And iBook G4 1.42 GHz
(also N64, SNES, NES, but that's neither here nor there).
Ideas?
Oh yes, I like FPS, RTS, non-MMO RPGs.
I dislike puzzle games.

Yeah i dont think CS will play very well on his ibook =P plus counter strike isn't "fun" as much as it is "annoying hackfest filled with 10 year olds"CanCarter wrote:ummm counter strike is now 10 bucks, for the comp and it comes with counter strike, cs: condition zero, day of defeat, and 2 other bad games

The Thing for the XBox is probably in the bargain bin by now. It had some shoddy controls and insanely hard parts, but I enjoyed the story. If you happened to like the movie it's a nice follow-up.
Oh, Knights of the Old Republic is great and is around 10-15 dollars these days.

You could give kkrieger a whirl. It certainly won't tax your machine.
Also Worms -Anything-, I know that there is at least one Mac version.

What he said. Seriously. Greatest game I've played in YEARS.
QFT.
Also, Toribash is a physics-based "fighting" game that I find fun.

Consider this signature a museum piece, since I love it and am unlikely to change it ever.

KoTOR is awesome. Since you have a light and dark course of actions, you get two games for the price of one because of the replay value. At least in theory. I always turn to the darkside at some point because it's more fun, and easy, to force choke and kill people to solve problems. I don't think that makes me a sociopath at all...

KOTOR is awesome, and you should get it, Force Unleashed's price will come down after a few months, so if you can wait, you'll get to play more Star Wars without paying so much
