But on Food Detectives, they did a thing about food you shouldn't microwave. They microwaves a grape cut in half, carrots, and a bar of soap.

Sound familiar to anyone?

Never seen that show, but I do watch the food network of the original, uncensored, unhyped and superior version of "Gordon Ramsays Kitchen Nightmares".

It's a brilliant show in its original BBC style and editing. I can't even bare to watch the FOX version.

I would turn gay for Ramsay, or House.

Putting weird stuff in microwaves has been mankind's obsession since the stone age, with the first accidental microwave explosions induced by foil wrappers on Mrs. Field's individually wrapped cookies being discovered by archeologists in the mid 17th century, in the lowland plateaus of China. Carbon dating on cookie crumbs left in the shriveled, burnt wrapper date the incident to about 20,000 BC ("Before Crumbs").

King Kool, did the Food Detectives do a good job of the show? I saw segment on some terrible MythBusters knock-off on G4 and they simply put a grape in a microwave and turned it on and left it at that.

You are absolutely right. I think burning things with microwaves comes second only to mankind's greatest fascination: smashing things into other things.

Who wouldn't?

I'm a girl, so I don't have to worry about that.

But still. You get the point.

You can use CTRL+Mousewheel (or CTRL++ or CTRL+- if you're mousewheel impaired) to make the text bigger and/or smaller. If you're using Firefox, you can set it back to normal with CTRL+0.

It was decent. They limited themselves to food, and only to things that would be dangerous to microwave, not just cool. Food Detectives isn't a great show, but it's worth watching.
