Well, technically, it's the WHC, but it's a championship on a WWE show, so the thread title is accurate.

To be honest, I can't really complain. Mainly because I'm cheering with you.

All hail Jericho.

I kinda tuned out from WWE when it went from WWF to WWE and the whole smackdown show had a different roster from RAW.

But back then Jericho was one of my favorites so I guess its good to see him get some title action

I phail to understand the logic behind them putting Jericho in the title match after getting destroyed by Michaels earlier. So now Jericho is going to be dual-feuding with Punk and Michaels (which is still going on)?

I do like that Jericho has the title though. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I think they're all from Hollywood actually... Including Freddie Prinze Jr.

Based on that facial expression, I'm guessing they felt compelled to turn him heel before letting him be champ again?

Yup. The "Save.us" changed to "savior.Myself". In a very Jericho-style ego dripping monologue, he turned his back on the fans after a loss, and went heel. Then he started pushing against Michaels, who cannot EVER be heel, and they gave him a title shot as a replacement for Punk.

I'm not complaining, honestly, because Y2J deserved a belt. And a real belt, not the Intercontinental or some shit like that.

Still, Jericho suddenly being an entrant in the scramble was awesome. I'm glad he has a real belt.

And that they're doing fun things with the belt, not just "here HHH, hang onto this for a year"

Yeah, they just moved him to Smackdown to do that.

Thanks for clearing that up. I haven't watched wrestling in close to a year. I'd be happy with Jericho as a heel champ, so long as they don't make him be Stephanie McMahon's dog walker. When he was Undisputed champion it seemed like he was setup to fail, with his instant association with Stephanie and being presented as a weak champion. I think they wanted him to keep the belt warm while HHH rested up.

AFAIC, the Michaels/Jericho feud was just a great example of why I'm a big fan of Michaels, and why I think Jericho (who in my eyes will always be the lion-faced TV tittle contender from Monday Nitro) is over-rated (sorry, Misty).

I think completely the opposite, Wraith. I hate Micheals, I always have. You want over hyped, you want undeserved pushes, there's Micheals. He refuses to push other wrestlers in the right direction(which veterans like HHH, Flair et al do on a regular basis), and only pushes himself forward, while managing to push the other guy backwards.

It sure as shit wasn't Micheals that made the HHH-Benoit-HBK three way awesome.

Because he doesn't lose to jobbers? He doesn't beat the best in the business, and then fail to some no-talent hack? Is it even his decision who he wins/loses to?

1. Michaels was an entirely different person then.
2. I also thought Bret was wildly over-rated. He had the most undeserved ego of any wrestler I've ever seen.
