Directions to the Event?
I live in Vancouver. I do not own a car, and will be relying on public transit. I can only assume other people are in this same situation. Does anyone have directions to the event, as well as recommendations on a motel for the night?
I don't know for sure if anyone has already provided this, I only skimmed the thread up to this point.

Here's a GoogleMaps link from the first post of the thread:

As for a place to stay, you could check out this page:

I haven't stayed in any of them myself, because I live here, but there's a quite a list, so you should be able to find something.

Take either bus number 70, 72 or 71 [Downtown] (The 70 is the express bus. Take it) from the ferries to downtown. Get off in front of the Bay Center on Douglas between View and Fort. Cross to the other side of View on Douglas and get on either the 11 (UVic via Uplands) or 14 (Uvic via Richmond). If on the 11 get off at Fort and Trent and cross the street. If on the 14 get off at the corner of Fort and Richmond and walk along Fort for a block to Trent.

Sweet, the 14 goes right by my house, so that works perfectly for me

I'm also coming in from Vancouver with a friend, so it looks like we have a small group of Vancouverite LRR fans who will be there.
Latest ferry we can catch to arrive at the screening on time is the 1:00, for those of you who haven't worked that out yet. Perhaps we could meet up either on the ferry or the terminal at Tsawassen, if others plan on catching the 1PM ferry?

I'm thinking of catching an earlier ferry. Is this possible for you, Missing? Also I'll be the one wearing the shirt with the thing. You can text me if you want to get together pre-trip(I'd TOTALLY appreciate a ride from the ferry to Victoria! I can even direct you straight to the EMP)

Alright, I think I've got my directions down. Anybody else in Vancouver might find this helpful, and anybody who's smarter than me should feel free to tell me if this works or not.
- Skytrain to 22nd Street Station (leave around 11:30 am)
- #100 Airport Station Bus to Airport Station
- #620 Tsawwassen Ferry Bus to Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal
- Tsawwassen Ferry to Swartz Bay (no later than 1pm)
- #70 Bus from Ferry Terminal to Bay Center (on Douglas between View and Fort)
- Across the street
- #11 to Fort and Trent
- 2328 Trent Street is the destination
Presumably, the same route would work in reverse.

Call me Marbles, or Jessica (as in my sig). Can't offer a ride, but we may go for the 11:00 ferry at earliest (stupid thing is only leaving on the odd hours and I really don't feel like getting up at 9AM). We'll be busing in Victoria.
Perhaps LRR people should wear something to identify each other as fans, as I expect we'll run into each other on the ferry. That, or talk loudly and often about LRR.

You may want to shoot for an earlier ferry. Vancouver Transit had tried to make it as inconvenient as humanly possible to get from Van to the ferry. I have missed many a ferry taking it. They do this so people get frustrated and pay the $40 and take the Pacific Coach Line (Which goes from Pacific Central Station at the Science World skytrain stn in Van to Down town Vic). Please keep in mind that The Swarts Bay terminal isnt in down town victoria. There will be more plublic transit connections to make on the other side.
I Strongly suggest saving your self a lot of headake and take the Coach. Its $40 each way and that includes your $14 ferry fair. Nice comphy seats. Sit back and relax. And your the first ones off teh Ferry when it docks.
See here for more info and times. http://www.pacificcoach.com/

Yeah if you are going to take public transit leave lots of time. The one o clock ferry will get you into Swartz Bay at 2:30 if they are on time which really does not give you enough time to get to the screening. I would try to get on the 11 ferry which means being at airport station before 10. Also you will have to leave the screening at about seven if you want to take public transit back out to the ferries.
What do you value more time or money?
