So I've always gone with "it might still be in my system" even though I haven't taken it in over 10 years. Think of the children.
If you like, I could come hold your hand.... you know like I would for a young girl.

You have a soft touch, Samson. I feel safe with you.

In other words, you took a medication that at the time made your blood toxic, making it a bad idea to donate blood.
But you haven't taken it for years, so in all likelihood, it is out of your system, but the only way to know for sure is to get a blood test.
Just go get the blood test.

In the pre-screening questionnaire they give, theres questions about certain meds. Generally its 6months after you're off the med, but it does depend on the medication. You should still go, you'll get to the private questions part, and then you can ask about the specific med. The nurses have a large binder that has all the criteria in it for meds and other conditions.
Annchan, im surprised noone picked up that you have Thalassemia before. Unless the doc put you on iron therapy without running any tests, which I think is kinda scary. If you did get some blood work done before, the hematology lab people should have been able to see that it looks more like thalassemia than iron deficiency.
So, yeah. I'd like to know when this would be going on. Looks like I missed this past week's clinic here in Nanaimo, so I'd be open to donating with everybody else in november (next Nanaimo clinic is the end of October).

Dude, you went gay like...three years ago, man. Come on. Weren't you IN "The Worst Homosexual"? ;P
Edit: Just rewatched the video, and I nailed the timeframe. Woot.
Consider this signature a museum piece, since I love it and am unlikely to change it ever.
