Unknown file extension...

Postby CyberTractor » 01 Oct 2008, 12:26

So, my Vampire: The Masquerade book is in quite some disrepair and I download a torrent of it.

Problem is, I have never seen this file extension.

I have 3 files, a .img, a .ccd, and a .sub. The .img is the larger one, so I'm figuring this is the main file.

What program do I need to view the file...?
I can't think of a signature.

I'm pretty sure it's a disc image file.
Mount it with Daemon tools or burn it to a cd maybe.
I'm still trying to figure out why someone didn't tell me how awesome Muse is.

yep, basically you've downloaded a CD Image file. You can either use nero or similar to burn it to a cd, and do the usual from there. Or you can download Daemon (or magiciso if you feel like living in the 90's), and mount it on a "virtual" cd-drive, and run it straight off of your hard-drive (very easy to do. Generally something along the lines of right click on the icon next to the date/time on your taskbar, then mount image, then navigate to the file and double-click).

I've managed to do it before, but mainly it was just the first burning software that came to mind. I prefer to just put it on a flash drive with Daemon most of the time.

I used Daemon Tools.

I download the computer game Vampire the Masquerade as opposed to the book. :(

Anyone have a good torrent site? I usually use mininova, but they seemed not to have what I'm looking for.

Everyone uses DT. Also, I could've told you that the book wouldn't come in CD form. Pure pdf, foo.

I think this might be what you're looking for: http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3389659/Vampire__The_Masquerade_Collection_%5B_VtM_-_White_Wolf_-_World_Of
Though I've never heard of it so I have no idea. I just searched PB.

That's not stealing... By paying nothing for it he is getting it for exactly what it's worth...

Yes, I have a thing about Colon: The Nouning...
