LRR Stock

Postby ecocd » 28 Oct 2008, 10:17

While I recognize the LRR Stock Holders was a gimmick for the live LRR performance, why can't we actually buy LRR stock? Not *real* stock, obviously, but phony stock certificates:

"This is to certify that __ecocd__
is the holder of __2__
non-transferable share(s) of
__LRR__
which hold(s) no valuation, no voting rights and, in fact, no rights whatsoever. The above is, however, entitled to the self-satisfaction of owning this piece of paper."

Only it would be much funnier. They would have a gold seal stuck on them and have signatures from Paul and Graham. Graham could post an annual stock holder meeting video every year. Only $10 a share!

If they aren't comfortable raising funds for LRR using such a transparent money grab, they could make them for Desert Bus Child's Play donations. We'd get a share of LRR stock for a $20 or $50 Desert Bus donation. It works for public radio and public television down in the States. I'd have mine framed.

Who else would buy LRR stock?

Consider this signature a museum piece, since I love it and am unlikely to change it ever.

here's a link to the full-resolution .PNG file, it's blank other than an interim stock issue number and a bar code.

Oh, and I suggest printing it on Blue Parchment... it looks awesome. And I recommend using "Old English text" for the name and Times for the number. And you can fudge the signatures.

Also, I apologize for the small text not being terribly funny.

Or you could have Graham and Paul send you their signatures and you could shoop them in.
