They've considered it in the past, however much of the music they use wasn't made by them, and thus they can't legally sell a cd with just the song itself on it (I think). However, they are easily closing in on enough original content to make a full CD themselves at some point in the future.

Also, parody falls under fair use, even if sold. Permission isn't required for parody work.

And for future reference, 5P1K3, you can use the "edit post" button to make changes to your original post. It's generally looked at a little most kindly than double-posting. :)

Parody works for for songs like "Desert Bus Killed the Internet Star", but songs taken exactly as is and placed in videos wouldn't work on a CD, such as some of the Commodore 64 music they use that might still be copyrighted.

However, yes, LRR does need to make a CD at some point in the future, they have a lot to work with at this point. I suppose they just need the time to put it together, which could take a while.

We're thinking about it, but it means we have to re-record a bunch of the tracks.

Search the LRR video archive for "1337," and click the "download" link on the video page. Instant music video.

While we're on the topic. Spike (I worked it out!), how does Loading Ready Run feel about their music rights? Through various unscrupalous meands, I made MP3s of all the music on your site (yeah, yeah, I know); so I could post a bumper LRR music file. However, it is your intellectual property, you may not approve of it.

TD:LR (or however you write it): if Loading Ready Run give me their blessing, I can post MP3s of all the music from the videos. I won't post 'The Arrogant Worms' numbers or 'Skeletor's Dick' because they're not LRR.

If LRR was to make a LoadingReadyAlbum, it should include their old songs as well as some new songs, to please new listeners and old listeners.
Low quality Youtube sketches? Amazing!

There's probably an albums worth of music on Kroze's Desert Bus mp3 archive.

You can also check out the LoadingReadyRecords YouTube channel where most of their videos & some stuff not on LRR is archived.

The 'stock' music is freely available on online archives. That's why they can use it in videos and then sell them on the DVDs.
However, unless everybody really wants to listen to the X Ways to Y theme, on its own...
You see where I'm going with this.
A remix, however, would be palatable.
I'll also note that some LRR videos might work without the visuals, and could be sold as audio tracks. Bump In the Night was written in a radio play style. Talk Like a Pirate, the Halo video, and Failure are writing-heavy. Story Guy's visuals are often incidental.
