How often do you change your avatar?

As often as I can possibly manage.

How often do you change your avatar?

Postby King Kool » 19 Dec 2008, 21:54

Ten guesses why I'm making this topic. I just figured out how to extract crap from DOOM and I wanted to make something from it. Thus, Zoidberg is retired, for the time being. This is only my third avatar in the year I've been here. The Zoidberg one I made on 8/23, so it only lasted about four months.

Who knows when I'll be bored next?

I think I've only gone through two; Vader trimming the hedge, and my current. I've had my current for over a year and a half now, I think. Sticking with it until I find something truly more awesome-er (at which time Chrusher is taking it)

Roughly once a year.
I'm still trying to figure out why someone didn't tell me how awesome Muse is.

I really try to think of good avatars, but every idea I had was lame. First, I tried a tiny, illegible image about the battle of Agincourt. Now, I have a Devastator Warship. I think I've had another in the interim, but it must not have been well-thought-out because I forgot.
If I think of something actually good, I may switch again.
Masamune, incidentally, is in the enviable position of being able to change avatars often and cause zero confusion. Colour me jealous.

Mine hasn't changed since the day I signed up.

I was also the only one allowed to keep my avatar after the Great Avatar Fiasco of '08.

Hubblah what now?

I haven't changed mine since I signed up...so about 6 months I think. I'm to lazy to look at my side bar to see when I signed up. It was actually a picture of the companion cube with the caption underneath: Sometimes you have to kill your best friends. I had made it for another site but it was to big so I trimmed it down to just the cartoony cube.

I used to use the ship from Galaga. Now I use the gas mask. I might switch back to the ship at some point, but I like my gas mask.

You forgot the "I've found one which is rather mediocre, and I'm keeping it" option. So I promptly directed hate toward Mr Cameron. He's a dumb self-righteous douche.
EDIT: wrong Cameron... I was thinking of Kirk. Oopsie.

I like my lickin' kitten, and I'll probably stick with it until I find something else that's appropriate for me.

I did have one of mah face when I first started posting, but changed it, like, that day (or, like a week later).

I tend to stick with my avatars for a long while.

I usually try to promote myself in 3D. I've been upgrading each time I create a better image or grow weary of the old one. There is a balance in finding a good photo that is recognizable as me while viewing with or without the cardboard glasses.

I actually love James Cameron.

Until I find a better avatar for being the Master Chef, I'm keeping this one.

I couldn't think of a good avatar when I joined, and decided to opportunistic with screen caps while Paul was shaving during Desert Bus. I don't like to change avatars frequently, but I never planned to keep this one forever.

I think its humor value will last for a little longer though.

I believe I went from having no avatar to this one, then switched to an avatar from the Rapstar64K video for about a month (Actually, I think it was two, first one of Paul, then to Matt), then switched back after a few complaints (both about it being too close to Nomadic's, and not been too identified with the Zeppelin).

EDIT: I looked, but I can't find the relevant thread, so I can't confirm the date of the Great Avatar Fiasco of '0?. They must have moved it to cover it up. Or something. But it was around a year ago, wasn't it?
