Because he's actually funny in what he does? Well, most of the time.

My favorite thing about LLR is that I can show my friends funny videos that they can relate to in their lives. And I don't worry about them finding the videos too awkward or weird, because they're so well made.

So far, I've shown these videos (apologies if I've gotten the titles wrong):

"Canada Man"
"Rejected Metal Gear Bosses"
"Rejected Wii Play Games"
"Morgan's Problem"
"War of Christmas"
Various Man-Cooking

Sturgeon's Law, LRR falls into the small percentile of things not crud.
They make Mondays worth living. Generally around nice folks. I've only posted in three or four forums, I don't frequent many becuase they are not as grown up as this one.

Srsly. Trudging cross-country without adequate clothing and carrying a heavy pack in the middle of a particularly cold January ain't easy without some severe motivation.

Of course, then Morgan had to go and not update that whatever thing that week. But still, the hope of it got me home.

Theodore Roosevelt.

Origin

The widespread use of this proverb began with American president Theodore Roosevelt. In a speech in Chicago in April 1903, he said:

"There is a homely old adage which runs: 'Speak softly and carry and big stick; you will go far.' If the American nation will speak softly, and yet build and keep at a pitch of the highest training a thoughly efficient navy, the Munroe Doctrine will go far."

The proverb is sometimes cited as being of African origin, although I can find no evidence for that. If it truly was an 'old adage' in 1903 it ought to be easy to find earlier citations of it, but I can find none. It is certainly possible that Roosevelt coined the phrase himself.

There's another version of the LRR Boom-De-Yadda song out there, suggested as a video last summer. Forum link. Stop me before it gets stuck in my head again!

I like LRR because its the only site which consistantly produces videos which are well thought-out, written and presented to a high standard (they are not just rushed through).

If I've had a crappy day...I know which site I can log onto to give me a good chuckle

I love LRR because it's awesome. Well everything about this site the videos, the fourmites, the crew, everything. This is the only forum i frequent and that's because you people are amazing (though school has taken all my time and i can't check the forum nearly as often as I used too).

I love everything about LRR, and that includes the fact that it's more or less unique as a place of intelligent and witty calm on the raging seas of insanity and horror that is the interwebs.

I love the forum here too for much the same reason. It's the only one I frequent or indeed use for that matter. No one's a duche and I can be sure of reading something interesting, fun, clever or informative, and usually more than one of these. I just wish we weren't all so far appart.

I know what you mean, I think I've only found one or two other people that live in Oregon, and they lived in portland.
