I judge the Ninja based on it's sheer skill, not it's ego. One on one a Pirate would have little chance against a Ninja.

Bill has a great deal of size and strength, to say nothing of reach. I know him by reputation to be a capable and proficient fighter in a pinch. That being said, I'm proficient with armingswords, broadswords, foils, rapiers, epees, rapier and dagger style, dual rapier, cloak and dagger, staff, short stick, short sword, katana, throwing knives... to say nothing of the fact that the martial arts that I studied specializes in fighting multiple bigger people with long reaches and using the increased leverage of their own limbs to shatter their joints.

I'd say its too close to call. Honestly if we scrapped in good fun he'd probably win because I don't have a way of getting out of a clinch or grab that doesn't involve permanently disabling one of the limbs involved (by shattering a joint) and I wouldn't do that in a scrap in good fun.

it's been discussed at length by the crew, and is even included in a podcast, and as the foremost authorities on the subject we ruled in favour ninjas over pirates, because ninjas are stealthy, have a greater diversity of weapons and lethal techniques at their command, and are vastly more skillful.

Pirates are, for the most part poorly organized profiteers, weak from weeks at sea with scurvy and little to eat.

That said, a ninja pirate (like the dread pirate roberts) wins by having the best of both worlds.

Hiyaaa.... That's just askin' for trouble. A true ninja pays attention to the wildlife to know when he's in danger. Look at me, gcninja, I'm wildlife. Few posts up there, I point out that a matchup between Bill and I, it could go either way.

You should take that as the same kind of signal as all the birds stopping chirping around you.

I do like the idea of ninja pirates, but I still think pirates are the cooler and the one that has more fun between them and ninjas. Ninjas are rather dull always keeping to themselves and being serious. But pirates can have a good time, just hope you don't get shot if drinking with them.

I agree that ninjas are better fighters but we have to think of other attributes like how cool they look and which has more fun.
