I wanted to write tonight, but I saw that the LRRcast was up, and I realized that I can't write and listen at the same time. I can listen to music and write, but not listen to something where I have to pay attention to what people are saying. (It's hard just to write this as I listen.)

A few times, I've turned a podcast up high and listened as I cook in the kitchen. Normally, when I play LRRcasts, I end up sitting at the computer and playing Freecell. Before I got out of college, I couldn't even PLAY Freecell. Now, I'm awesome at it. But that's probably more about my underemployment...

Anyway! What do you all do while listening to something?

I normally play WoW when listening to a Podcast. That or DotA. It makes really good background noise when music gets boring.

I listen to the LRRcast whilst I walk to school. It's about a ten minute walk, so I usually listen to it twice in one week.
I wish "The Ongoing History of New Music" was a real podcast and not this minute-long BS. I'd listen to that, too in a heartbeat. Does anyone know if you can torrent it?

I play a lot of minesweeper. Any mindless game works such as the click fest that is Diablo II.

I actually turn it on and go to bed. I usually fall asleep after it ends. A couple of times while it was still on, but I just listen to what I missed the next day while surfing the tubes.

Excercise, play games, cook, drive
Pretty much anything that doesn't involve listening to or contemplating another conversation. So I can't watch tv or read. but just about anything else is fine.

I listen to a lot of podcasts or audiobooks on the bus to and from University as well as when I'm walking around the campus. Lots of times I don't wait that long with the LRR cast though and listen to it the night it comes out while playing WoW or some other game.

Anyone else notice Lavos hasn't made a good post in months? It's always "Lavos" or something obscene.

Pretty well this. Anything that keeps my visual and motor parts of my brain occupied, without engaging and distracting my language and thought parts.

Usually I'm making comics while I listen, but I also listen just when I'm online in general.

I'm either cycling to work with the older podcasts in my ears but last night I wanted to do coursework when I saw the podcast was up. So I downloaded it then listened.

I think Lavos has run out of things to say and it took him weeks to come up with that.

I'm usually either in bed, before falling asleep, or doing my regular internetting - y'know, forums, mindless TwitSpaceFacing.

Podcasts also go down well on public transport or long car journeys. They help pass the time on the hour or more car journeys I end up going on some time.

Grindan teh MMO's. Been playing Drift City as of late, listening to the podcasts really kills time when doing patrol missions.

I usually just stare at the window and watch the slider move. Sometimes I make a post while I'm listening or cobble something together based on the 'cast. For awhile I was playing Metroid, but then I'd keep playing after the 'cast ended >.>

Drive or work or if I'm at home, play something on the xbox.

i try to do some homework and normally fail, especially because i cant work in a Sunday evening anyway

I'm notoriously bad at multi-tasking, so I try to just focus on the podcasts.

Normally I am playing WoW, but I have just quit WoW *sob*
So now I play Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows and web swing around New York whilst listening to podcasts.

I'm with King Kool, Lord Crusher, zfubarz & sdhonda - I'll play a mindless game to occupy my hands whilst I listen; Spider Solitaire at the moment.

...though Siobhan's plan sounds like it might have merit...
