Me. Canada Day. Victoria.

Postby Kathleen » 23 Jun 2005, 23:17

That's right, I will be in Victoria over the long weekend folks! I will of couse be spending lots of time with Graham, but I would also like to hang with some other people too. So, what's going down for Canada Day type parties, and can I crash them?

Oh, and Chris? SCIENCE.

This lack of... any response whatsoever (now almost 36 hours after posting) must be depressing.

I don't even know you, really, and I find it a little embarassing, so I'm killing this silence mercifully. Of course, my not knowing you may be the reason why I consider doing this in the first place.

(I realize of course there are other means of communicating your overwhelming joy, people... e-mail, phone, carrier pidgeon... so there's probably some background noise going on. If there isn't, then heaven preserve us.)

Nope DP, nobody cares despite misleading me in other threads to think they did. I'm not too concerned though. I'll just hang out exclusively with the person I'm going down to see.

I care! It's just my vacation, so I was too busy drinking, dancing to The Cure, The Postal Service and Frank Sinatra at bars, walking down by the ocean at five am, and watching the new George Romero movie to actually check the board in the first place (you have to admit, it's a good excuse).

However, now that I discover this, I am amazed and astounded and we should definitely do something (although the science party might require more notice to wrangle up interest, and also a place to host it).

Yeah, Graham reminded me of that. We could, you know, just drink some beers like normal people.
Also, I have a whole bunch of unreleased Elliott Smith demos and rarities. Do you want me to burninate you a CD of it so I can give it to you when I get to Victoria?

I was informed this used to say "give me Elliott Smith rarities" too, but you changed it.
If you want them, I could mail them to you HYRS. I'm not exclusive with the Elliott Smith love.

I have a feeling that it would probably be easiest just to hand it off to Kate. Graham's younger sibling Kate. In case of there being multiple Kates. And I'll totally be able to get it from her.

If there could be an Elliott Smith rarities CD burned for me, that would be splendid.

Oh, and in case you haven't been to the mini-repository:

No problem Mike! I just figured since Chris has Elliott Smith lyrics in his signature, he's like a CD. This isn't live stuff though, it's from 1998, and it has a bunch of pre-XO demos and some stuff I've never heard before on any album. You should drink beers with me, and I will give you the CD then.

I don't drink beers, and I've often thought that the similarities between Chris and a compact disc were uncanny.

Lyrically though, I've been more into rap lately.

"Still I keep a strap for when I come across a killa
I dreamt the day I'll have to fight that killa in the mirror
I wake up every mornin', hit my fifth and hope I live
Just another day to see what tomorrow's got to give
I'm addicted to the liquor
And at days I peel the sticker off another 40 ounce
And wonder, 'How did my life get here?'
My ole goes in stayin' drunk and eliminatin' funk
F**kin' hoes or rollin' triple golds always up in the trunk
My mother asks me everyday, 'Are you still bangin?'
I lie and tell her, 'No', but her heart knows I ain't changed
none"
-My man Woodie all up inz.
True, true, think on that shit.

Mike just thinks I'm like a compact disc because he can't stop playin' me.

Nigga, please!

Point being, I will try to drag Mike out for the beer drinking, even if he isn't drinking any, because it will be fun times for all.

Well Mike, Graham will be "beering" with me, but won't be drinking, so you won't feel out of place I imagine. Also I'd like to meet you and stuff.
How does Saturday sound for people?
