IT's that time again!
IT's that time again!
That's right. Time for summer road trip! This year needs new music. Total trip time estimated at 20 hours. What suggestions do you have? Please try to keep the music clean as possible. I don't want to listen to a lot of swearing or about who is doing who with what.

my travel playlist consists of things I sing along loudly to. I'm usually driving, and thus have veto power over the stereo, as I'm the one who has to stay awake.

Those are eclectic enough to keep anyone happy. Or everyone unhappy. Or specifically Kathleen's roommate Adam unhappy.

For some reason, I just had the mental image of someone playing nothing but Bouree for Bach the whole 20 hours.
Seriously though, The Eagles are surprisingly good road music.

YES!
Dummy by Portishead. Also, try and track down some 'indie'-folk Bellowhead, you may be pleasently surprised.
Re: IT's that time again!
Yngwie Malmsteen could be fun to listen to. He's great at guitar and the singers are brilliant. Might not be your thing if you're not a fan of 80's rock where the male singers sing high and the guitar shreds like hell.
Oh. And Whitesnake!

It seems as if you only just arrived.
You've done a great deal in a small time...span.
You've done so much, in fact, that I've seen some interesting suggestions for your entertainment. Ordinarily you likely wouldn't contemplate them, but these are extraordinary times.

Re: IT's that time again!
I'd recommend taking along at least one album or song that everybody can sing along to, as it is both interactive (which can be important on long haul trips) and helps build camaraderie. The only problem with that is that you'd kind of have to know the group you're traveling with fairly well in picking something.
Also, as far as a specific band that's good for driving to, I'd recommend Bang Camaro. Also, seconding Brad's recommendation of the Seatbelts.
