I'm not normally one for making light of a horrific event during the actual event, but this could be funny sometime after it's blown over.

Unrelated: what will Vaughn do for his 2,000th post. Place your bids now.

That said, when I hear "Swine-Fu" I don't think of anything that wouldn't require CGI pigs ala Shrek.

Come to think of it Swine-Fu sounds tremendously like a Muppet's joke. I mean it reminds me a lot of Miss Piggy.

Wasn't Miss Piggy something of a martial artist? Maybe her style was Swine Fu

After lengthy consideration & soul searching I have deemed the term "Swine-Fu" hilarious. Have at you.

I've been calling it "piggy sniffles", which I find more adorable to joke around with.

Haha! I'm going to have to echo you and start calling it that myself.

I've been calling it Hini.

That reminds me of a little ditty my parents sang to me when I was younger...

I see your Hini,
All white and shiny,
You'd better hide it,
Before WE ALL BITE IT BECAUSE OF YOUR GD FLU!

Really, it's not a horrific event, is the thing. Hundreds of thousands of people die of the regular flu each year. Yes, it is dangerous, and the public should be informed of it, but the media just going on and on about it really gets on my nerves.

My biggest problem with swine flu? No one has yet said "yeah, right, when pigs fly" in my presence - I've had a pun ready and charged for a couple weeks now.

So you guys know what the swine flu vaccine is made from right? Cuz my dad works at Sanofi Pasteur, and they are looking for people to help with production.

The main ingredient in Swine Flu vaccines? EGGS.

So basically you get vaccinated with breakfast...

No No no no NOO!
eggs are used in transit and testing its not the ingredient.

Finally secondary school science proves itself

I think we can make fun of swine-flu. I have a story to tell...

When "Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain" for the PS2 was in development, a stage of the game was set in Toronto, Ontario as the site of a viral outbreak in a major population centre. You run through three different stages, shooting terrorists and disarming bombs. But, before the game came out, SARS hit, so they changed the city to Carthage, Michigan. I don't have anything against the place, but come on, Toronto is way better.

Isn't it really just a case of the flu with a bit of a kick to it?
