Japanese animation artists have a different set of visual conventions to indicate certain things. You can dislike those conventions, and thus dislike any animation with them, without having to actually seen all of them.

I will note that not all anime actually follows those conventions. Some anime is more realistic in style and depiction than others.

Well I don't like anime or hentai or any of that stuff because of the plots and scripts. Anime drawings are B-E-A-UTIFUL and I like to look at them as art, but I can't stand the lines and so on.

However, some of the live action Japanese shows, mainly the game shows. Granted MXC is not directly translated, but the stuff they do in these competitions are, to put it nicely, out of the ordinary, or to put it bluntly, friggin retarded.

Also, Human Tetris FTW!

Also, after hearing the prompting by the crew, "Jeeze Matt's A Dick".

Not really, Matt. You are pretty cool now.

I am one of those people who in general does not like Anime.

I am not one of the people who's seen only Sailor Moon or DBZ, I have seen quite a bit of anime.

I do not like most anime simply due to the artwork. I'm am an artist... I put a lot of effort into my art... 80% of the stuff I've seen out there looks like there was no effort... How hard is it to draw a nose? Make a persons eyes proportionate?

HOWEVER. there are several anime/manga that I DO like: Anything by Masimune Shirow(That dude is one of the best artists ever), as well as Gunsmith Cats, Blood and Akira.

My main problem with anime/manga(other than the art) is how it's taken over... Those who have been going to Barnes & Noble(Or equivalent book store) for years have seen how the Manga section has pushed the Comic Books to one, maybe two sections.

And Anime Fanboys/girls... They're ALL stupid... all of them... every oneof them.

That's one of the conventions, Tensen. The size of a character's eyes is directly related to how emotionally sympathetic you're supposed to find them. It's a convention.

Like having little birds fly around the head of a stunned cartoon character. Or the coyote always holding up those little signs that say "Help!"

Here's why I can say I don't like anime, Matt. I have literally spent weekends (yes multiples) at the anime store with my friends, as they choose show after show after show of their favorite animes to show to me. I didn't enjoy very much of it (especially the Gundam stuff). I do however like the Ghost in the Shell franchise.

I've never watched it, but I've heard that Cowboy Beepop is a really good show, even from people that don't normally watch the Animes. I might have to check it out. Affirmative/Negative?

Was that a Mutant Enemy reference at the end of the podcast? Or am I just hallucinating?
Eleven, important number. Prime number. One goes into the house of eleven eleven times, but always comes out one.

I am not a huge anime fan (I enjoy Miyazaki and Lain and Millennium Actress) but I absolutely LOVED Cowboy BeBop.

Apparently Samurai Shamploo is even better, but I haven't seen it yet.
