The problem with Non-sequiturs in humor is that they tend to degenerate into randomness quite quickly, and while being wacky and unpredictable is fun, it's not necessarily funny. A good non-sequitur must be subtly produced, not just randomly garbled together. It's important to keep a tender brain while doing so; simply simmer them gently for 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the altitude, in a mixture of spices.
(There's probably also need to distinguish logical non-sequiturs, which are logical fallacies and are not really funny at all.)
