March 20th :: Format War

Podcast is a goo.
Seriously, its goo.
If you have any problem with a bunny being eaten by a polar bear because of you listening to the podcast, you should turn away now.

Remarkably ominous literature surrounding this one then, I'll see more when I've had time to listen

EDIT: Well, I had a ton of commentary to post, but IE crashed...

Actually I have a problem with a bear eating a shark because of this podcast.

Also, I love how you guys argue about how you met though I'm still confused. And I'm with Graham on movie commentary. Awesome stuff.

I only made it it up to "The Process" before you put it up. You do some fast work, there.

Say... did I hear something about the season four commentaries being finished?

Worst commentary ever is in The Hebrew Hammer. It's directed and written by some jewish guy, so of course, the commentary is done by his mother who wasn't on set or had anything to do with the movie. On the up side, the phrase "ayyyyy...! a Jewish Pimp" gets said alot.

Fairly nice podcast. The stories of how you met, while long, were fairly funny.

Also, nice to hear some less negative Brawl commentary. (No offense, but the talk about it in the commentary on Fun with Microwaves just seemed like a lot of down talk on the the SSE.) Now that we now Morgan plays (or at least has played) as Kirby, what characters do you guys usually play as? I'm a Pit/Kirby/Metaknight player myself.

SSE was really boring after awhile. :/ Good thing it wasn't terribly long.

I play as Pit and the Jiggster.

They got rid of Ninja Jigglypuff, so I play as Ragtime Jigglypuff now.
I can't think of a signature.

Ugh...let me see if I can remember what I had:

There's an actual Edward Penishands?

I'll admit I had little if any knowledge of the format war before there was this announcement I barely heard about that it had ended in favour of Blu-ray.

If you thought currency math was bad, try having a physics student explain how he's going to construct a cornered tunnel with a Disintegrate spell by running the math of the 10 by 10 cube of material manipulated to result in the same space in a different shape. I allowed it by sheer confusion...

I wonder what the next video is...game related per chance? Seriously, I've heard nothing.

Did Matt just admit to being sub-sufficient in the "one place that counts"? Of course, we can't expect you to truthfully discuss porn in relation to yourself and the volume in a podcast being listened to by hundreds at least.

Yay for printers, I guess, killing the world's tree population one A4 sheet at a time (I'm not a fan of nature, honestly). Personally I'm more for a total digital documentation method, but I'm pretty darn integrated as it is.

I've heard stranger things with 2 or 3 people, but most of my social group is a pretty wierd bunch I'll admit.

A lean mean video-making insomnia-inducing machine!

Ethan Thomas is way different in the second Condemned I'll agree, but on the bright side: Alcohol. Demon. From the weapons it sounds like a lesson in how to find improvised weaponry.

I haven't gotten Brawl yet, but it'll probably end in my collection. Does Ash play Snake and sleeper hold everyone? Kirby stew-pot-cannibalism is an interesting turn. Dedede must be one of the weirder characters in the game in my opinion. Pikachu sounds like my idea of TF2 Scouts, too fast and too high-damage.

The last level of Portal is definitely worth any consternation in the previous levels. Really wishing there was some point to getting the achievements in most online games, including TF2 and Portal. I’ve already gotten virtually all the achievements for TF2 barring certain class-specific ones and map ones which I can’t get due to system limitations.

Did you really need to name your band the “Time Lords”?

Ash, the Queen of Evil, can be dated? Wow, I honestly didn’t consider that as a possibility, but she might actually be quite a good “catch”, to use outdated and sexist terminology in a probably-failed attempt at non-offensive commentary.

Matt, if u use Zero Suit Samus's final smash while directly on top of someone it does significant knockback and can kill.

If youre anywhere close, you get blackholed and powerfucked out to a random corner =D

Also, Kirbys final smash absorbs nearby items as well as people, and will spawn Food and Spicy Curry and other stuff when it spits out people

After fiddling with the stage editor in Brawl, I created a little something you guys might like: LoadingReady Run, the Brawl stage! If you have an SD card, you can save the file for the stage as directed in the link and use it in Brawl. It's fairly simple (just an attempt at copying the logo with a few hazards added for fun), but I hope you enjoy it.

DOH! It seems the service takes around 24 hours to actually put the stage up... (-_-); Sorry, I'll put a notice on the thread I started in general for this when it's ready.

I seriously have to pick up Brawl this weekend.. God damn it being a holiday.. I still have to work! God damn saturday and sunday being family dinners! God damn family and their incessant absorbtion of my gaming time.

On the topic of the cast, I had a suspicion that the video was thrown together within the week, it was pretty funny to find out it all happened the day before. When the topic of HD-DVD/Blu-Ray came up, the first thing I thought was "Werent they discussing this in last weeks podcast?" I wasnt sure which inspired which.

I also had a good laugh at the Hadron Collider answers. Pauls delivery of that tiny little footnote: There is a small chance this could create a blackhole and end all life on the planet; Perfectly highlighted in comedic irony.

Now to get SSBB and enjoy some Nintendo online before the apocalypse in may.

Well, what with it being Good Friday and all, my family was headed up to a town about 1.5 hours away from my home.
I get on my Macbook, and holy craps and garters, a podcast's already up!

So, as a bit of a change from listening to it at my desk or listening to it before sleeping, I listened to it on the way there.

I am happy about your words regarding high school. I am still there at the moment, but only a few years left.

(As an aside, on the way home from said trip, I listened to Muse's Black Holes & Revelations in its entirety, except I moved Knights of Cydonia up because I was on a flat plains-like road that reminded me of deserts and cowboys and the wild west and stuff. Awesome.)

Honestly, the only reason I'm buying seasons 1-4 from you guys is so I can listen to the commentary (and see the first season...cause I'm a nerd.) Although, Graham, my favorite commentaries to listen to are the ones from the Space Ghost Coast to Coast DVD's (specifically season 2) which is basically nothing but them comming in and bitching about how they had to come in and how they didn't even give a damn while they were making the show. The commentary for "Freak Show" is nothing but them telling George Lowe to say a bunch of A-words so they can decipher if he has a lisp or not. But it's great because they're just having a fun time and they do get around to some interesting stories most of the time (wether related to the show or not). Maybe I just like them because that was a show I was obsesed with...

Either way, I'm looking forward to listening to you people when the DVD's finally go up for sale again!

Edward Penishands. Ah haha haa! My friend Gemma had this movie & talked about it whenever the subject of porn was brought up. It sounded hilarious but unfortunately someone stole her copy before she could loan it to me.

In regards to Matt's comment off Graham's PC not being on the home network.

Provided Graham has not deliberately gone and made it that his PC does not wish to connect with your PC. I believe the way to fix this is to go and manage the network resources, bring up the properties and then uninstall and reinstall the file and printer sharing service and that should allow the printer to be shared.

This should work for XP or Vista which is for some the two OSes that have the "This network resource is not accessable, contact your network admin blah blah blah".

Edit:
However it does strike me that Graham does not have a PC but a MAC therefore this advice is completely Moot... But hey, you can still try it on your own pc Matt :p (infact I'm not even sure if you have a PC either...)
It was really too big:

I give you this instead

I listened. I laughed. I loved.

Instead of listening to it with undiverted attention and typing comments along the way as I usually do, I played Brawl while listening, so I forgot all the things I was going to talk about, and instead just enjoyed listening to you guys talk.

Oh, but the "Time Lords?" Very classy name for a band. I'd buy all their albums... I can see it now... As a band, you wouldn't have groupies. Just "companions." The tour bus would be called "The TARDIS." And your first album, each of your songs could just be titled... "The First," "The Second," "The Third," etc etc. People wouldn't throw roses, they'd throw stalks of celery.

Oh God someone needs to make this a real band RIGHT NOW.
