I'm necroing this thread because I thought I should share something cool.

I copied the script from this video down and showed it to the HP club here at PSU. There is a good likelihood that we will be doing it live at our Red Nose Day comedy show on April 13th. I am going to make sure that the credit goes to you guys in the program. I just hope we can do it justice.

Also, since the new LRR shirts went up I have been unable to find the current season DVDs available in the store. Are they? I wish to give you money.

I'm a sad panda right now. We had too many sketches and voted tonight about which ones we were going to do. "Waiting for Harry" got a better response than some, but it was cut. If it's any consolation, it beat out a sketch that involved beastiality.

The guy who did the reading as Matt's character said he wished they did decide to do it, because he loved the death pool list, especially the "when the remorse over the death of Cedric Diggory..." line.

I'm really sorry to get everyone's hopes up.

I'm also upset because BOTH of my suggestions were shot down. Which blows like Hurricane Katrina. I mean they decided to bring back an old sketch because they thought they would need more scripts, but ended up needing to cut six.

I'm a little pissed off, but what can I do?

Well guys, thanks again for being so understanding with this whole fiasco with the video and doing it live. We still didn't do it for Red Nose Day on sunday, but one of the other sketches is going down in history as the funniest story from RND08.

So the Monty Python Society on campus was one of our trinity of funny (the other being the Penn State Belly Dance club), and they decided that one of their sketches was really just a planted spoof. It was listed in the program as "Snape Striptease at Ginny's Baby Shower", but the MC, who was also a Python player, came out and said it was going to be cancelled due to "technical difficulties".

As he says this, the other Python people yelled, "It got out of its cage! That's not supposed to bend that way! OHO MY GOD! MY UVULA'S BLEEDING!" and so on, and then was followed by them running across the stage. When they did this in dress rehearsal, they told us afterwards that they wanted all of us to run across with them, making it funnier and more apparent that it was a joke. We obliged, and come performance time, the whole of Belly Dance (except two who were practicing the next routine), the whole of Python, and the whole of Potter (in character costume!) ran across the stage, including some physical humor of running into doors and doorjambs.

This is what happened during the show, and the audience "aww"-ed upon the cancellation announcement, but started laughing when they saw all of us run across the stage. However, this is what we read the next day in The Daily Collegian, the school newspaper, (and here's the link in case you think I'm making this up)

When The Monty Python Society couldn't perform their skit, "Snape's Striptease at Ginny Weasley's Baby Shower," because of technical difficulties, the crowd "aw"-ed in disappointment.

She didn't get it. A blatently obvious joke about backstage at a COMEDY SHOW!, and she didn't get it.

At first, it was a huge "OMGWTFBBQ *double facepalm*" moment for us when we read it, but then we laughed, because one of the girls in the Harry Potter club is a reporter, and basically bitched out the reporter for being a dumbfuck.
