In what order would you rank the Star Wars prequels?

Postby King Kool » 07 Apr 2008, 18:03

I'm tabulating a list in which my nerd friends all list in what order they like the prequels, from best to worst. For instance, mine would be 3, 1, 2 because I think Revenge was the best and Attack was the worst.

Feel free to put your reasons, but for my sanity, put the order deliberately somewhere the way I did for ease of data collection.

Thank you very much for your help.

1, 2, 3.

The more annoying Anakin gets, the less I like it. Also, the movies got progressively worse.

Is there an option for "haven't seen enough of them to judge?" I saw 1 in theaters, wouldn't pay money to see two, so saw half of it on TV once, and haven't seen any of three. D:

I guess you can mark me down as N/A/N: Not Acceptable to Nerddom?

I want to watch the originals first anyway.

The entire series increases in quality as it goes, peaks at Empire, then drops a bit with Jedi, then dies with Caravan of Courage.

Anakins acting went down during 2 and 3, then peaked at the last few.

Best - 1 (simply because of the Duel of the Fates)
- 2 (Obi-Wan pwns all yet again)
Worst - 3 (Anakin needs to die)
Successfully lurking since 1709.

1, 3, 2.

I disagree with Graham's earlier statement, as Jedi was my favourite of the entire series. It's stupid how many times I've rewatched it in comparison to all of the other Star Wars movies.

Empire Strikes Back is more actiony and epic, whereas Return of The Jedi is very mythological and focused. I like both, in different ways, and wouldn't place one over the other overall, just in specific areas.

Now then, what are these "prequels" you speak of? No such things exist, I can assure you. No doubt, however, you refer to the mere hulking abominations of supposed cinema that serve as grim specters, bent upon haunting the glory of the series and sapping meaning from it to fill their own emptiness and lack of substance or worth. Pay them no mind, such shades will depart with the morning light.

321.

1 was just no for me frankly. Annoying characters, flimsy storyline. the other two beat it hands down

As a whole, 564321.

5, 6, 4, 1, 2, 3

Empire beats Jedi primarily because of the cheesiness of the Ewoks. New Hope was the worst and cheesiest of the originals.

All of the prequels were worse than the pulp that was A New Hope.

Really?

I love Star Wars, I really do, I went to a TV show which I hated, just so I could win tickets to go and see the Ep1 in the US

But there was nothing that could've prepared me for Ep3, goodness, that was a stinking pile of poo, the only part I liked was when they showed Darth Vader, and that's it.

so, I'd say:

since we are talking about the prequels I don't think I have seen them enough to rate them. saw 1 in the theaters once (with James actually, I think it's the only thing we have ever done just the two of us)
saw 2 twice but fell asleep both times :(
and have seen 3 many many times. it's a good movie but 4, 5 and 6 all outshine it.
seen 4,5, and 6 a million times.

1- Because It has Darth Maul, and Anakin isn't a cry baby in this one

3- It makes me think of an Emo on a killing spree, and Anakin gets the vrap beat out of him,

2- GAAAAAAAAA, my head hurts thinking about it, oh god why!!!!!!

I love how everyone manages to block out the existence of Jar Jar. God I hated that character.
