Stanley Cup Playoffs

Postby Radical Ans » 11 Apr 2008, 07:27

The playoffs are already underway so I figured I'd start up a thread. Who's everybody rooting for?

Since I'm a born and bred Pittsburgher (mmmmm....pittsburgher), I'm a devoted fan of my Pittsburgh Penguins. To my credit I've been a fan since the early 90's, so I'm not just some Crosby loving bandwagon hopper.

So far it looks like NJ is folding. Hopefully they can get their act together for game 2 tonight.

I think Montreal is going to sweep the first round.

I'd like to see Philly take the Caps. Mostly because I don't like Ovetchkin and a Philly Pittsburgh conference final would be awesome!

I don't follow the west much, but Detroit has been looking pretty good, so I'll pick them to make it to the finals.

Go Pens!!

As is our way.
You can really feel a difference of mood in the city, now that we're out. There's a lot of bitterness and anger, and fights keep cropping up when Vancouver residents gloat about how they knew the Canucks wouldn't make it, and blah blah such and such team did.

i am stuck between being born in the philly ish area, and going to school in pittsburgh... however, if the people in pittsburgh react the same way they reacted when the steelers won the superbowl, i am all about the pens! seriously it was crazy... oh riots are so fun!

Are the Sharks in? I don't follow hockey much, but they're the local team here.

GTFO my province.

If you're a Canucks fan, you're always a Canucks fan. You're often an angry or disappointed Canucks fan. Fair weather fans are scrubs.

Now I have NASN, I can watch the Play-offs live :D:D:D Long as I stay up past midnight every night.

At the start of the year I put my money on 3 teams. Kings cuz they played (And won) in London this year. Florida Panthers cuz I support the Nottingham Panthers. And Ottawa Sens. Just because...

Well it looks like all my teams will be out in just a couple of days lol![/img]
Bring on the trumpits!

I'm rootin' for the Senators, but I can't say I see them going past the first round this time around. Pittsburgh has a strong team, and Ottawa has been struggling. Sometimes you have to acknowledge the writing on the wall. If the Pens take Game 3, we're fucked.

As I speak, the score is 1-1 halfway through the 2nd. There is still hope.

And as much as I hate to admit it, Montreal has a real shot of taking it this year.

[edit] We got *slayed*. We're down 3-0 in the series. Time to bust out the golf clubs. [/edit]

Rangers in 5

West
Detroit in 6
I have no idea with SJ and Cal. But i hope it goes to game 7, its been a good series
Minnesota in 6
Dallas in 4 (Anaheim has just not been playing all that well)
