And now a crash course on that most ubiquitous of substances, alcohal!
Alcohal is produced when yeast organisms feed on rotting biological matter. They consume the rotting substances and excrete alcohal, because it is waste byproduct detrimental to the yeast organism. In essence, it is yeast piss.
Humans, proudly displaying that they lack the wisdom of a yeast complex, then consume this waste. The yeast at least was smart enough to get rid of it, but no, humans guzzle it like there's no tomorrow. Then they comment widely about how purposefully ingesting the effluence of a compost feeder produces ill effects on their beings. Of course, no one likes a hangover, but damn if the preceeding loss of inhibitions due to self poisoning doesn't attract countless humans to consume alcohal anyway.

Hey hey hey, I toned that shit down. I coulda been really jackassy about it, but no, that post was light-hearted and gently mocking.
That said, I've nothing against drinking itself. Normal amounts of alcohal aren't bad for you. But drinking your ass off and getting hung over is a form of overdosing, just like any other drug, medical or recreational.
Everything is fine, in the proper amounts. But it's just stupid to take it too far.

I was totally in control of my drinking last night, I think. Didn't throw up, didn't fall down or nuffin'. Was pretty damned good, actually.
And you know what, Zomb, I didn't get any real 'presents' for my birthday. But people bought me lots of drinks, and I had so many people call, text, email, PM, Facebook, LJ comment, LJ POST, and thank me on various forums, on WoW, that it more than made up for it.
Incidentally, there was a picture I mentioned a while back that Angelle took when we were in like grade 9.
Juli called me last night to chat, and she told me she still has it. When she gets a chance she should scan it, methinks, and then I will show you guys the power that was the Back Porch, and our loving circle of assholes.
And you know what, Zomb, I didn't get any real 'presents' for my birthday. But people bought me lots of drinks, and I had so many people call, text, email, PM, Facebook, LJ comment, LJ POST, and thank me on various forums, on WoW, that it more than made up for it.
