I'll believe you when she shows her face in a video.
That being said, I want so very much to believe.

She doesn't make a habit of wearing that much makeup, but that is what she looks like.

And only a handful of people have ever met her.

Perhaps I should explain.

In the US, "Canadian Girlfriend" is often a euphemism for "girlfriend that you made up because you don't actually have one but want people to think you do so they stop making fun of you".

It doesn't work so well with actual Canadians.

I've never heard anyone actually use that euphemism before, except referencing Avenue Q. Where in the US are you?

She likes jewelery and playing dress-up.

...And taking pictures of said dress-up.

......To which I have no complaints.

But to address the implication that engagement or marriage might be involved, the answer is no. Despite having been with her for more than a fifth of my lifetime, we're in no hurry to put any external expectations on what we have and enjoy.

Not knocking marriage, I just don't think its for us. At least not yet.

I really hope that smiley face means you're joking.

Because implying that I'll be burning in a lake of fire forever just because I didn't swap rings with a woman I have devoted so much to and suffered so much for really rubs me the wrong way.

I don't mean to jump down anyone's throat here but I would take a hail of bullets for her and I don't relish the thought of being punished for it.

It's classic Internet ettiquette to say something absolutely horrible and dispel it with an ironic emoticon. Some people thing those things are more powerful than a Town Portal scroll.

I'm not going to say anything horrible because I think it's very old school. I prefer to make my own useless emoticons.

Oh for sure! I don't know why this one in particular bugs me, but it does.

If it was suggested that I would be devoured as canapes by a pack of roid-raging but otherwise cultured French filmmakers I wouldn't worry about it. Just some people take the whole unmarried -> hell thing seriously.

I thought everyone knew that people who don't conform to arbitrary, archaic societal standards in all regards were going STRRRAIGHT TO HAY-ELL.

Alex, I'm afraid your relationship doesn't meet my rigid criteria, so it's eternal damnation for you.
