First, you didn't mention Maple Syrup! As the leader of the future Pancakeland, I am insulted.
Second, when you said Canada never had to defend yourself on your native land, are you only counting when Canada was officially a country? I am refering to the French and Indian War.

If you can't laugh at yourself, just laugh at other people.

I'm pretty sure they're referring to Canada after 1867, when it officially became a country instead of a colony. Before then we never defended ourselves on our own land, as it wasn't our land, it was British land, and they defended us on it.

but thats not nearly as much fun, then we dont get the pleasure of saying we beat the americans....while out numbered
Cool video!
And I really like the ad.
Furthermore, for some reason, every time I hear the Canadian national anthem, I keep hearing, "We stand on God for thee."
That sounds MUCH more badass than the actual words, doesn't it?

Also the 3 year war, and the war of 1812 where we totally kicked some American butt
Ah. You mean the War of 1812 where we subsequently handed both you guys and Britain your heads?

Nope, i mean the war of 1812 where you marched against Quebec with not one but 2 armies, out numbered us completely and utterly, and our moral was that of a snail in a salt mine, and we still held you off.

Nope, we're talking about the one where we burned down the White house

Fix'd
Also, ad at the beginning was pretty awesome.

@wilson: Hey, you guys get to take a nap mid-day as part of your culture. Don't complain. (Yes, I know what a siesta actually is, dut seriously, I want to have a government-instated naptime, cuz I drag ass about 3:45 in the afternoon)
@Emporer Gum: Are you referring to God Save the Queen? Cuz if so, I think it would be better to follow Eddie Izzard's version. You know...
God attack the queen/Send big dogs after her/That bite her bum
I used to know more of the lyrics, but those are the ones I can remember for now.
As for "Pop Up National Anthem", I enjoyed it a lot. The revamped anthem was good, but I think you may need more work on it. It needs more cowbell or something. But at least it's a great start.
When are you selling those kickass Canada t-shirts? How much?
Finally,
ZOMG IT'S A GEOFF WITH LONG HAIR! PYGMIES!!!

For British North America the War of 1812 was a success in that they be not conquered by the United States. For the United Kingdom and for the United States the war ended in stalemate with both parties agreeing in the Treaty of Ghent to return to pre war status quo.

Video;
I'm taking an oath to memorize & perform Canada's new anthem at the fireworks display tomorrow night.
Of course that means it will only be heard by my parents, in our car.
But rest assured they'll be subsequently annoyed at my singing it alllll the way there & alllll the way back.
Eh. Either way it goes, we still kicked the American's butts.
This is true.

The War of 1812 was when we burned down the White House, though, yes?Android wrote:Zed Alpha wrote:Ah. You mean the War of 1812 where we subsequently handed both you guys and Britain your heads?

Agreed! I'd say above 80% of us in England couldn't care less about our Queen, And our anthem is about God saving her. I'd also say the same amount of people don't care for religion.
Hey let's not forget, that's the Queen of Canada, too.

Personally I'm not a fan of the "God Save the Queen/King" anthem we have over here. I mean, sure it's nice that she's still remembered, but if you have to change the song every time a person in a certain family dies, how good an anthem is it?
I certainly prefer "Rule Brittannia".
Wow, must be really depraved up there I guess

To be a little on the pedantic side you are confusing women serving in in military and related to those serving in the military being able to vote in the election in 1917, the granting of the right for all female citizens to vote in federal elections in 1918 and the Persons Case in 1928-29 which declared that women could be appointed to the Senate. Most provinces granted woman's suffrage in the late nineteenteens and early twenties. However women could not vote provincially in Quebec until 1940.
Also I am not sure if the term 'undefined border' should be use for the post 9/11 Canada US border.
