Lament, mortals. It is time for funs.

Postby Brad » 06 Nov 2008, 17:31

Rocktoberfest has come to a close. It contained haunted houses, one I made, one the kind folks at playland made; several go karts; mini golfery; an owl that made my assistant wet herself in terror; zombie militia boxer-briefs; massage; driving a grown man into a wall in terror; going from assassin to hobbit on popular vote; massage; and a parrot.

But now it's time for the x-mas run-up apparently. It's a time of year where we can be truly thankful for all the bounty that the year has brought. Especially this bounty. Holy shit:

I'll have a video tour of the haunted house we constructed up soon.

You got a Vulcan?

A good friend of mine has a Vulcan. It's pretty awesome.

My roommate and I just went in on a six-pack of pistols today. Now I have 5 nerf guns and he has 6. We're pretty well set for the Nerf-Susceptible Zombie Invasion of 2009.

I own the sniper rifle/assault rifle. Sometimes, I drive to my friend's house just to ambush him when he opens the door. It's so awesome.

Deba and I have mavericks hidden about the house so that one will always be close at hand in case of spontaneous nerf war. There are two sniper/assault rifles in a wall case in our living room, one maverick in the kitchen drawer, one in the bathroom and a couple with the assaults and in our bedroom.

All old Zombie Militia gear. Somewhere there is the battery powered punch-to-the-face ball launcher. Maybe the garage.

Hiding weapons around the house is now legal in Canada, eh?

Also... WOW do I suddenly want an oversized plastic machine-gun.

Nope. Hiding plastic toys that project suction-tipped foam cylinders at significantly-less-than-harmful speeds, however, is still cool beans.

For ages I've wanted to grab some Nerfs and some paint & brass doodads and whip myself up a steampunk raygun mod (c.f. these beauties), but I just haven't had the bleedin' time.

Okay, the 'Nerf gun' came about after I 'grew up'^1 :(, but even I can tell you why the lack of shirt:

The suction cups won't stick to clothing; even though someone managed a headshot, it's a MUCH smaller target area than the entire torso...

that makes sense. don't know if i'd want to be hit in the nipple, though. they came out after my youth too :(. we just had bow and arrows which we took the suction cups off and sharpened. good times were had by all. except cyclops pete.

i don't think they ever released those here. we did have similar dart-esque things we threw at each others legs, though. i probably still have the scars. it started getting a bit out of hand when we made crossbows that could shoot through cardboard boxes. we also loved those balls that you hit together and they spark before they got banned because some kid went blind or something. when indiana jones came out we made whips and tried to lasso our friends. the 80-90's were pretty awesome.
