National Lampoons Christmas Vacation! That one is one of my faves, PLUS a family tradition to watch every Dec 24th. Usually on the 24th we have "snack dinner" consisting or things like fancy cheese and crackers and kielbasa and shrimp/oysters etc. It's yummy. Then early on the 25th we open presents and later that day have a big Christmas dinner. All our traditions are my favorite, they are simple, yummy and i get to chill with the fam.
I think Wii Golf is becoming tradition with my step dad and his brothers every christmas

Walk in like DeNiro, and leave like Brando.

Hate christmas movies.
As for traditions, my family rarely has a christmas tree. We have a tree substitute most years (last year we decorated our livingroom bookcase with lights and a marie antoinette doll that had a pop-off head, the year before we decorated a fancy cast-iron swirly wine rack) that we decorate together.
Christmas dinner is usually pretty fun, too, given that we never really have a set family or group of people we have it with. One year we had it with the family of my mom's business partner and some ukranians, once we had it with a neighbor that we hardly knew, and from time to time (like this year) we go down to have dinner with my mom's huge catholic family.

The Christmas Toy is, was, and always will be my favorite Christmas special ever.
Christmas Eve we have a big family party with sooooo much food. We start preparing the food the 23rd. Dad's been planning it out since October. We place games, and drink and eat and have a good time. We watch A Christmas Story, and exchange some presents, (presents to and from the guests there). After everyone leaves, we put the presents for the immediate family under the tree, listen to music, clean up after the party, and go to bed. Christmas we open presents, listen to music, watch The Christmas Story some more, usually our Aunt Susan, and cousin Danny will come over, and we'll munch on leftovers, and play some games.

It's a Wonderful Life.
I don't have it, but its usually on. Going to see it live on christmas eve with my brother on Granville Island.
My family and I are pretty varied. We do Christmas Pie. It's an old irish thing. The origin of xmas crackers as I understand. Everyone gets a rope and it's tied to a present in a bowl all wrapped in paper. Everyone pulls and it explodes. Good stuff.

DO WANT! LOUD THING GO BOOM!
As for my family traditions, mom puts a pot of coffee on, before we open gifts we all get a cup. Then after we finish opening gifts, Dad goes and makes breakfast of eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, OJ, and cinnamon rolls.
After we all get showered we go and do more gifting and such at my Grandmother's with my aunt's family, and my aunt makes dinner.
Also, as hard as it is to find, my family tries to go to a Christmas eve candlelight service (my dad grew up catholic and actually said he kinda misses midnight mass).

Heck yes!!
I celebrate both holidays, because I'm confused like that. But my favorite holiday movie is, hands down, the version of Babes in Toyland with Drew Barrymore and Keanu Reeves as Jack Be Nimble.
The holidays are my excuse to watch crappy movies that I'm sure the actors wished didn't exist.

Every Christmas Eve my dad and his brass group play at a church before their service. Then on Christmas we wake up eat breakfast and then open presents. Then we go to my grandmother's house for lunch and her presents. Then we come back home and my mom's side of the family comes over and we do presents with them.
Hello world, remember me? I'm the sad little fuck that you failed to see, who you should have recognized When you had the chance. Hello motherfuckers now its time to dance

Seeing as most of my family lives either in the Lower Mainland or near Kelowna, I don't see much family on Christmas.
Usually we have breakfast, then presents, then lunch, then we go to Petrolia to visit the only family we have in Southwestern Ontario. Except they're on vacation this Christmas.

As odd as this sounds, I also really like watching "A Smokey Mountain Christmas". For those of you who don't know what it is, here are the key points:
- Dolly Parton as a country star who "disappears"
- 9 Orphans in the Smokey Mountains
- Mountain Men and Witch Woman
- Poisoned Apple Pie
- Mean Orphanage Owners
- John Ritter as a Country judge

That reminds me, I dug out my old Star Wars tapes and watched A New Hope again for the first time in years. Not exactly Christmas-y, but still a damn good movie.
