bit smallish, but large enough.

'This is the approximate extent of Old Norse and related languages in the early 10th century. The red area is the distribution of the dialect Old West Norse; the orange area is the spread of the dialect Old East Norse. The pink area is Old Gutnish and the green area is the extent of the other Germanic languages with which Old Norse still retained some mutual intelligibility' - Wikipedia.

Norfolk is the southern most British orange splodge. Hey, look at that... no bloody green in Pictland... eh?

I actually laughed, very loud, at the 'with machines' bit. No one was with me, I was just sat there laughing like an insane maniac.

Further point, if you walk for three days north of hadrians wall you walk into the North Atlantic... if you ride... on a pony...

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO CARES ABOUT HISTORICAL ACCURACIES!

P.S- Same to Graham, but with my hand waving in the air, cause Graham would know how ridiculous I look when I do.

History is awsome. Though I've grown sick of reading about europe. Parts of it anyway. Vlad Thepes never grows old.

I myself fell in love with the catholic restoration for one reason or another during an elective histroy class, which ended up being a tad too much reading for me. For an English student to declare a reading strike means that there is shit tons of reading!

On a completly unrelated note:

GRAHAM: I loved the video! The king Kong scene was my favorite, it turned out really well. I am impressed with your dedication to the site because it looked liked a lot of editing and post production on your part. Hurray for you!

P.S- If you're up to it today, wanna play some super mario?

What're you talking about? Troy was completely accurate to the Greek mythology. The only real difference is that they cut out the gods and changed what was necessary of the story to compensate.

Mind you, the gods were four fifths of any given Greek mythology, and the rest of the story kind of heavily leaned on the whole god thing, so that had to be completely restructured...

...but at least the names were the same!

There are several details. Achilles making it as far as into Troy for one.
I'd like to point out more details but.... I have a horrible memory.

I haven't seen the film, nor have I read the Iliad, I've read part of the Odyssey, which I need to read again. I've talked to teachers who have read the Iliad and they said that most of the fighting in the book was between heroes, when I saw the trailer the sheer number of soldiers made me weep, that just removes the point. Also was there any mention of the statue [of Athena? Can't really remember now.] being taken by the Greeks, so on?

To make a film that's accurate to currently understood history or interpretations is hard, but they could at least try. For example, the Saxon invasion (in my opinion even more noteworthy than the Norman Invasion) was just a plot device so they could end the film on a *that* note. Not sure how to put it apart from *that* note. Overdone Hollywood Melodrama.

Well I hated it anyway. I had to force myself through the last 2 hours just so I could say I watched it.

Good stuff. I liked this one. I was hoping we would finally get to see the end of the prologue.

My brother has a question for you: "what happened or is happening to the bloodrayne movie?"

Yeah, cause I'd actually do it in the reverse order. It would be kind of tricky to sleep with his wife while the house is one fire.

Oh! Okay...
Sleep with wife in unburnt house, burn house with children inside, then eat the now crispy children.

Riiiiight. Um... everyone pretend you didn't see this.

yeah guys that was awesome!! i love the site and havent signed up to say somehting in forums until now. The one hting i have to say is that "Alone in the Dark" was a terrible movie!! i have yet o play the game and ihear it is prety good but the movie explained nothing and that prologue was long. A friend of mine fell asleep and woke up during the sex scene and said "WTF?? Why are they having sex? and Why isnt this movie over yet???" needlees to say that was the highlight of the 2 hours i lost of my life

That one, like many, many others, wasn't really great, but wasn't terrible enough to make fun of. We kinda liked it actually.

I think they made a cool enough character out of Marcus though. William as a constant Werewolf was also an interesting thing, a bit strange, but cool.

I'd just like to say that yes the remake of "The Fog" was terrible...but the original was quite stunning, so as far as concept wise for the remake it was good, as far as everything else it can suck my balls.
